Came in a compact box completely disassembled with many small pieces. It appeared a bit intimidating to put together at first. However everything came labeled with stickers and after sorting it all out, it became apparent the design was on the simpler side, & minimized complexity. Instructions were included and clear. This shelf is beautiful once assembled. The metal frame is just fine, it feels sturdy but is nothing special. The bolts used felt quality, thick and no signs of cheap metal. The wood panels are quality and feel like real hardwood- smooth and heavy. Wood screws were used for assembling the smaller joints but all the larger joints had metal threads set into the wood. For the price mine was puchased at ($160), I find this to be a great value.

Very sturdy bookshelf. Easy to understnd instructions and looks very nice. Comes with some extra parts that were not needed. You can easily build this by yourself but it may take a couple of hours. Get a ratchet with some hex sockets and you will be much happier. Lightweight but sturdy and mine is already full of kids books, no problems.

Have you ever wanted to build a bookcase pretty much from scratch? Well, this unit will let you do just that! You'll get to install the rails on each shelf, assemble the frame and screw the shelves into the frame. After you're done you will feel a true sense of accomplishment. The hours that you put in will be rewarded with a bookshelf unit that looks just like the picture... that is after you peel off all the stickers. Yep. every single piece of this shelf has and ID sticker and some pieces have their own safety stickers. You won't have to worry about there being any unidentified parts because these are not the kind of stickers that fall off in shipping, these stickers require both strong intent and chemicals to remove. But once you have removed them you have a nice bookcase that seems to be real wood and its pretty sturdy. This kit actually ships with extra hardware and I bet you will even have a handful of other screws left over when you are done. Those screws are for if you decide not to do the L shaped unit. The metal framing is sturdy and well made and there are plenty of holes of various configurations. You'll need to pay close attention to these holes during assembly so you don't t have to build in reverse to get the holes where you need them. When you are done there will probably be lots of holes in the frame that you didn't need for your configuration so all you do is adhere the provided plastic stickers over the holes to hide them. It works surprisingly well! They also provide a set of hooks that allow you to hang things on the side rails of your bookcase. I haven't figured out what to hank on them but they are a nice touch. I found the following construction schedule to be very helpful and made the entire process less intimidating: Day 1 Sort the parts by sticker ID Day 2 Install the rails on the shelves Day 3 Assemble the frame - take your time, this is your change to get all the holes where they need to be! Day 4 Fit the shelves into the frame and secure them - Don't forget to install the Z clips if you build the L shaped unit. Day 5 Peel off the exposed ID stickers. This part might seem impossible but they will come off with some effort and some googone. Day 6 Put the bookcase in its new home and enjoy!

This bookshelf is AMAZING!!! I was looking to make some changes in my pantry as we upgraded our water heater to tankless, which freed up a lot of space. I measured a million time to be sure that this would fit the space. It fit great on the height, weight, and depth. Measurements were spot on unlike other shelving units I have ordered in the past. The shelving unit was really easy to put together, I did it by myself. It came with fairly easy to read instructions. It does come with a tool to put it together but I just used my drill. The holes were all in place and easy to line up. The shelves fit easily in place and were secured quickly once the frame was put together. This bookshelf really elevated my pantry space giving me loads of storage space I previously did not have. For the price I have no complaints, as it seems to be priced like similar style shelving units.

So happy with this bookshelf! I did the corner design. Other reviews I read were right, the shelves aren’t flush with each other in this set up, but I am fine with it. It’s very sturdy and looks amazing. It took about 5 hours to assemble on my own, but it’s very easy, just time consuming. I love the hooks it comes with to hang stuff off the side.

Loving these bookshelves! First we bought two while redoing my husbands office, it was a smaller footprint than I anticipated but holds so much more than we expected! We initially had four bookshelves from Target that was big and bulky, he was able to clear almost two of those bookshelves and put it on just one of these! The weight of each shelves ensure he could really Load them them and now he can get more books without worrying about where to put them. Instructions were easy to follow through, safety brackets to ensure it doesn’t tip over. The shelves has weight to them so they aren’t cheap feeling! Contemplating on getting a fourth one!
