  • OK but need some modifications.
Size: Pack of 1
The unit won't work out of the box. There a major design flaw that makes this unit useless. The PVC tube connecting the water hose to the floater is cheaply made and will cause major headaches from water leaks to broken pieces while you try to stop the leaks. The solution only cost $1.50 and available at Amazon or at your local home improvement store. All you need to do I to get a 1/2" to water hose adapter and install it instead of the cheap PVC pipe....bye bye water leaks, hello automatic pool lever. Just remember to use some Teflon tape on the 1/2" side and tight the water hose all the way to the rubber o-ring. Check out the photos I've uploaded to get a visual of this fix. Enjoy it now that it works. ... show more

  • Does what it says, very simply and effectively
Size: Pack of 1
I was a little apprehensive about ordering this because of so many whiny reviews talking about how it leaks, requires modifications, etc. I'm not gonna question anyone else's experiences, but mine was perfectly fine. No leaking, no modifications needed, no adapters. I just followed the instructions and lo and behold, it works. It's true that it's made of plastic and doesn't seem terribly heavy duty, but I compensated for that by NOT turning on my spigot all the way. We have about 80 psi in Dekalb County, GA, and I was afraid this thing might not handle it. But do you need all 80 psi and max flow through this device? I do not. I just need it to occasionally come on add water to an in ground spa. I don't care if it flows slowly, in fact I prefer it so that others in our house don't notice the water pressure being lower than normal. So once you get this thing hooked up, just barely open the spigot enough to fill the hose. My $.02. ... show more

  • Not very trustworthy
Size: Pack of 1
The concept behind this water monitoring system is great. The problem is the float system is terribly unreliable. It can get stuck either in the open or the closed condition. The assembly being made of plastic, including the float and the shaft which it rides up and down on sticks too easily. We were out of town and my wife received an alert on her phone that our water usage was excessively high over a two day period. Nobody was at the house and there was no other source of water running. We called a local friend and had him go to the house to see what the problem was. The float was stuck and the water was constantly flowing and the pool overfilling. If the thing is going to be useful it has to be trusted. This cannot be trusted. We've stopped using it. ... show more

  • Durable and dependable.
Size: Pack of 1
We have a 34x16, 17000gal in-ground pool. We bought our first m-3000 in August 2012-8 years ago. Has always worked as advertised. Perfect as we travel 5-6 months in our motorhome. Much less expensive than retrofitting a built-in system. Altho it still works perfectly, it was getting a little tatty looking with permanent calcium crusts etc. So we bought this new one. Hoping to get the same service and life from it. (If not, still have the 2012 model) One comment. If you look at the picture you will see the float/water valve is protected by an open bottom cover with a longish vertical "window". Leaves tend to collect in there and impede the float. We either buy pool basket filter socks and slip them over the valve cover OR.....slip an old pair of nylon stockings over it.😇 Works fine, lasts long time. ... show more

  • Absolute Rubbish
Size: Pack of 1
As soon as I saw it I wnated to return it, but their return police and restocking made me decide to give the item a jolly good go. Note it is flimsy, poorly designed and the float did not slide evenly. Could not tell what ist was sticking on. Eventually though I had it working and shutting off properly so I left it alone. BAD IDEA. Next day the water was flowing out all sides of the pool. The only good thing was it demonstrated that the pool is still 100% level ... show more

  • Not a quality product
Size: Pack of 1
I have put 2 brand new pool sentry auto fills in within the last six months. The float sticks. The first one, the float stuck as the water level went down and did not fill the pool, causing the pump to run without water. I thought, well it was defective because this is the brand and type that I have used for several years; therefore I bought another one and this one the float sticks and the water runs over. Unfortunately, I feel the quality in this product has gone way down. Of course, my return window was 3 weeks ago. Time to buy a different brand. I would not purchase this product again until they figure out why the float keeps sticking. ... show more

  • Great after you fix the leak!
Size: Pack of 1
Like other reviewers have said, this thing leaks, leaks, leaks, and leaks some more. If your goal is to ensure your pool level is always right this will do the job. However, unless you incorporate the primary fix mentioned in another review, you will waste more water due to leaks than anything else. The fix you want is to purchase a Female 1/2" to Female 3/4" adapter and attach your garden hose directly to it removing the silly, and cheap, plastic tube they supply. I ordered an adapter through Amazon but it wasn't the right one. Eventually I found that Orbit makes this adapter for drip irrigation systems and it costs <$2. So check your local store to see if they have it or search for it here on Amazon. ... show more

  • The float sticks
Size: Pack of 1
I've owned one of these units before and it worked fine. This one that I have (ordered Spring 2019) is malfunctioning. The float sticks, causing the pool overfills. The float seems to move just fine when I move it with my fingers, but in actual use (water level sloshing around as swimmers are in the pool), the float sticks and doesn't move freely up as the pool water level rises. Thus, it doesn't shut off, and the water rises too high. I'm willing to try a new "Float Valve Assembly" (p/n 503012), but I don't think I should be expected to pay for it as I've only been using this device for less than a month. ... show more
