I just couldn’t go without writing a quick review for this. We got the kit for a Christmas present for my daughter who is 8. It was a wonderful project to build with her, she asked tons of questions about why certain things were built in a certain way and it was an opportunity to teach her some basics on electric wiring. The kit is so well made and the instructions are super clear. I was a little worried during the build that the end result might not actually work very well but we were super happy when we eventually go to plug it all in. and test it. After one small wiring adjustment (to pull out one sensor connector and reinstall it) the lights came on and the music played. It is super fun to play and works really well. All in all a fantastic product, I highly recommend to build with a kid (or as a solo project of course). Great lesson in deffered gratification as it took 3-4 days to build, so not some plastic piece of junk that you can switch on right out of the box, rather a beautifully crafted model made from quality wood. We’ll keep this and play with it for years hopefully. 10 out of 10 for me!

When I came across this item, I was amazed at how they were able to do this. I haven't seen anything like this before. It does require a fairly high level of modeling skill. However, if you are diligent and very careful with the pieces, it goes together quite well. I was pleased with the overall precision of the unit. Once it is together, it plays really nicely. It comes with quite a few spare parts, and take my word for it, you will probably need at least a couple of them. I did. A couple of suggestions that I did that I would like to pass along. In certain areas, I would add a tiny drop of CA glue in an inconspicuous area along the joint on any pieces that seem that they may come loose over time. Especially along the connections on the upper ramps. Also, it will be easier to hook up the connections for the electronics on the underside of the playing surface if you do it before you attach the sides because the connections plug into the sides of the power units, and it is more difficult to do once the sides are in place. It's more difficult to reach in or to try and use the small tool.

Buy this because you want a kit, not because you want a pinball machine :) The build is one that takes a while to put together which is a plus for some, con for others. I did this while watching TV and finagling things on the couch which slowed me down, so it was around a 20 hour build. The instructions are pretty spot on, so this was a good, relaxing experience. It is definitely fun to assemble, but you REALLY need to pay attention during the build. Due to the scale, there are steps that would require many other disassembly steps to fix if messed up. It is possible to break the parts, but they include a healthy amount of spares. The kit as a pinball machine is meh. It is a toy and wasn’t expecting too much, but the sensors often pick up ghost triggers. The mute switch isn’t programmed well either, so you can’t fully silence the kit and keep the lights…the music will randomly start regardless. There are a couple playability issues with the kit where the ball gets stuck on ramps or the ramps are so steep that you can’t get the ball up. Again, I wasn’t expecting much, but this could be tuned in future revisions. The lights are flashy and fun. It would be awesome if there were more sensors and toys on the playfield to trigger them, but for the price it is pretty good.

This is the 3rd wood kit that I built. I've since built 7 more. This was definitely the most complex. It is alot of fun to play. Both flippers work, it plays music upon start-up, it makes sounds when the marble passes different sensors, it keeps score and has LED lighting. It isn't an inexpensive kit, but well worth it. As you can see, there is a ton of electronics, but the instructions are very clear.
