I bought these simply because they were available for Same Day Delivery. I figured, how bad could they be? I mean, all they have to do is hold 8nm and there's not really that much force on them as there are 5 of them on road ring set. Let's start this story from when I opened the package. 1/2 of the bolt's logos/torque specs were worn off. "No big deal," I tell myself. They're cheap Chinese bolts, and I don't need the cheap screen printing. I just need them to hold onto a chain ring. Then as I started to install them, I realized that the male and female sides of the bolts are not the same color. again, to myself, I rationalize this as "Maybe they're anodized in different batches, it's going to be ok" Hmm that's weird. It seems that 2 of the 5 are cut to a different thread pattern. Ok, this is starting to be weird. But you know what? As long as keep the like females with the like male counterparts, we'll get through this increasingly annoying experiment. After a brief pep talk in the back seat of a 1973 VW Bug, I decided to get back at it. All the normal prep takes place. Remove old bolts, get new rings in place, and slather some grease in the right places. Take the extra step to sort the bolts that match, and begin putting it together. Now put the bolts in your hand tight (using your thumbs to twist). Pull out the trusty torque wrench. Check the side of the bolts that didn't have the screen printed rubbed off. Yep, I read it right 8nm. set the torque wrench to 8nm and start to tighten. First bolt - Click 8mn, Second bolt - Click 8nm. Cool, all is going well, I'l be able to ride tomorr.......aaaaa CRAP. Did that bolt just go tight then loose again? CRAAAAAPPPPPP yes it did. Ok, I have a spare bolt in the toolbox, I'll be ok. Fourth bolt - Clip 8nm. Fifth bolt, *holding my breath that it will take the now backed down to 6nm torque that I decided was good enough to ride tomorrow. Nope, stripped that bolt too. All in all 3 of 5 bolts stripped at under 8nm These are total garbage. Quality is bad. Control is bad. Do not buy these, just get something else. I do not recommend. ... show more

They look good and feel like they are well machined and the price is right. It’s aluminum so the durability is good but not like titanium or something. I think they will be perfect for the trail riding I’m planning to do on my refurbed 95’ specialized stump jumper.
