Look, I build ebikes, I like full-twist throttles on my bikes. But on longer rides my hands can get sore on the rubber/plastic grips of throttle assemblies. So when I started customizing my daily driver I knew I was going to get foam grips even if it meant using a less desirable throttle type. These grips fit the bill, I've got Rockbros parts before and quality has always been adequate, this time they went beyond. My hands are always comfortable, even on long rides and rough terrain, and they look great. Early mornings the foam does feel slightly soggy/slimy when I get dew, just pat them with a towel, the extra care is well worth the comfort. ... show more

A while back I purchased a used bike with foam grips and have been using them ever since. The grip is great, they are more comfortable on long rides, and they seem to wear better than soft rubber grips. This is my first pair of Rockbros grips. They came in nice retail packaging and seem to be well made. They have a metal locking collar that works well and includes a plastic end cap. The plastic end caps don’t usually last long for me before they break, but I wouldn’t expect anything more at this price point. I found a really nice set of affordable aluminum end caps on Amazon that have been great on my other bikes, if you check my other reviews you will find them. I haven’t got a lot of ride time in yet on these grips, but first impressions are they feel comfortable and grippy. They are a softer foam and less dense than others I have used. Time will tell if they hold up as well as the others, but pleased for now. I read other reviews that said these were tight to put on, but these slid right on to my handle bars no problem. ... show more

Not what I expected, but Rockbros is an excellent company

I'm an experienced cyclist. My daughter is allergic to a lot of the rubber grips so I've been using bar tape on her mtb. I thought I'd give these a try for a bit more comfort. I like the locking grips because they are usually quick and easy to install. However, these were very difficult to slide on. Lost a star. I tried to loosen the bolts more, but ended up losing one of the bolts. Rockbros sent me a full replacement when I reached out to them. (WHAT A FANTASTIC COMPANY!) The replacement grips were also difficult to slide on. More difficult than a soaped bar with a rubber grip! I'm taking off another star because that is the whole point of locking grips! The end caps are well built, and don't fall apart if you remove them a few times. They included an Allen wrench which every cyclist should already own. The package was mixed material (not a fan,) and could have been more environmentally friendly. I wouldn't get a lighter color because these are going to show dirt. I need to test what happens when they get wet. I guess they are a decent value for what they are. ... show more

Soft and grippy but not rugged

Returned after one ride. Soft and grippy feel was great, until the grip came in contact with a rock. That started a rip that quickly grew from one end to the other. The problem, in my opinion, is the underside of these grips are not glued down 100%. Even the slightest rip will not stop growing. My old grips are chewed up on one end, but because they are completely glued down, 95% of the grip remains useful. ... show more

Rock Bros foam grips

I have only put nine miles on these grips so far. I replaced some ergonomic grips to get further relief from hand pain. Although I like the principle of spreading the load on my ergonomic grips, they were still not doing enough. These foam grips did alleviate some of the problem, but obviously I will need more time to know. As others have noted, the foam may not be durable for too long, but at such a low price they are readily replaceable. ... show more
