  • I LOVE my new keyboard - Feels looks like high quality
Size: Hot-Swappable Brown Switch Color: Black
Well engineered, the formfactor feels great, solid and high quality (well I just got it so I cant quantify the quality but it FEELS great and no issues so far. it feels solid, sits nicely on rubber feet, doesnt move at all unless I pick ut up. Full size noisy clacky keys - just like I like - like the old Dell mechanical keyboards 20 years ago that you cant get but others are starting to imitate. And yet so small! The keyboard layout decisions RK made to accommodate the small size are very good - you need to trade off something, so some keys had to be physically removed, which keys get removed? So the FUNCTION key drives "modes" that enable these keys. The more common keys that are now not primary physical (for me) are Del (for logging in), Function keys (F1-12) and even the question mark "?" - I panicked but forged ahead, and it quickly became apparent these these are VERY EASY. To use the question mark - Fn right-Shift ? To log in - Fn Right / Ctl Alt Del / Fn left-Ctrl / Fn left-Ctrl / (enter password) So yeah its a little cumbersome but the forfactor and spece I get back on my desktop is fantastic. It USB charge, this morning the Fn key was blinking - as if to say "somethings wrong" - I figured it was the battery so I plugged it into USB. If you do extensive typing, I dont know if this will work you might push the limits, I have no idea. I bought TWO - one also for my 19" rack music recording computer the keyboard is in a drawer - now theers a ton of room on that drawer for other things (cell phone charge for example can nbow be in the drawer) ... show more

  • Great secondary or travel wireless keyboard.
Size: Hot-Swappable Brown Switch Color: White
Picked this up as an extra wireless keyboard to use in tandem with a laptop docked into my living room tv. Really great price. Build quality is good. Lighting is good. Sounds and feels good to type with.

  • Effortless Pairing. Top-knotch customer service.
Size: Hot-Swappable Brown Switch Color: Black
My primary interest in this keyboard was in the bluetooth functionality, but as a developer whose other two main keyboards are 40% configurations, I could see the need for a relatively larger keyboard in some situations. The keyboard was shipped in a container without packing material. Inside of the shipping container the keyboard was boxed extremely securely. Previous to the purchase of this keyboard I have owned five mechanical keyboards, two 80%, one 60%, and two 40%. This is the first bluetooth keyboard for me and also the first keyboard I have owned that is marketed as a gaming keyboard. The keyboard feels solid, sturdy and stable. It is my first experience with brown keys and I love their feel. Despite complaints by other reviewers, I find a pleasant compromise between key spacing and the overall footprint of the keyboard. Certainly, the keys are not as crowded as my vortex core 40%, and they are very easy to pull. The sloping contour of the keyboard makes the absence of feet moot, in my opinion. The removable type-c cable is the best of wired connection options for me. This is also my first bluetooth device. Despite my lack of experience with BT, I found pairing with our mobile phones, computers and tablet to be very, very easy. Documentation left much to be desired. I found it extremely difficult to follow. However, RK's customer support is very good. Customer support people are quick to respond, polite and write very well. Unfortunately my first unit failed shortly after receiving it. It stopped working in wired mode. Customer support advised me on methods for switching modes and for restoring defaults. Once I followed those instructions and still had no luck in restoring wired mode, a replacement unit was sent and arrived in three days. Again, wonderfully packaged, but without any packing material in the shipping container to buffer the package from movement. But that is on the shipper, not RK. I am a software developer and have no interest in gaming. As such, I can visualize a design improvement that would give this keyboard better functionality for developers, and I note some complaints from other developers that demonstrate a similar perspective. Here is what I would do: Move the left control key and its fn layer to the position currently occupied by caps lock. Caps lock could be put in an fn layer under TAB. Move the left win and alt keys one position leftward. Put a second fn key just to the left of the space bar. Dual fn keys are used by both my qisan 40% and the Happy Hacker Lite2 that I used for 20 years before switching to mechanical keys and that configuration would provide more options for accessing fn functionality. A left hand fn key would make the function keys under "y-u-i-h-j-k-n-m-," a lot easier to use and make me and other developers happier. ... show more

  • Solid Budget Option, Some Flaws
Size: Hot-Swappable Brown Switch Color: Black
I’ve been using the RK61 for a while now, and for the price, it’s honestly a really solid keyboard. The 60% layout is perfect if you want to save space, and the brown switches feel smooth for both typing and gaming. Sounds really good, bluetooth is easy with the chip, theres no lag or delay, and its battery life lasts a couple days. There’s one small issue though—sometimes a few keys won’t register. It’s an easy fix with Fn + Enter, but it’s a little annoying. If you don’t want to deal with that, it’s probably just easier to keep it wired. Still, for the price, it’s a great deal. It works well, feels good, and does the job without breaking the bank. Just keep those quirks in mind! ... show more

  • Good feel. Works with all my devices.
Size: Hot-Swappable Brown Switch Color: Black
First of all, the key switches feel good. I have a nicer desktop keyboard with brown switches and this feels familiar, if not better. I really like the feel of typing on this keyboard. I use this with iOS, Android, and Windows. It works with all three OS's. I do wish that it had OS specific keys mapped, like Home, back, etc. I have a little folding keyboard that does this marvelously, so I know it can be done. It could be the case that all these keys are mapped and simply undocumented. I do occasionally, accidentally find keys and combinations that give unexpected results in iOS. E.g. holding function and hitting the right arrow twice bring up voice dictation. My only other gripe is the documentation. It's like the Woody Allen joke: poor and too little of it. I do wish all the mystery mappings were documented, and I wish the documentation were provided as a PDF or ePub or both so it would be easy to bring up on every device, with or without wifi. IMHO this is the ideal for this type of keyboard. It is cheap and works well enough. I think if it cost as much as a good desktop mechanical keyboard I would be less happy with it. As it is I cut some slack in consideration of the low cost. ... show more

  • Amazing. Wish it was blue tho.
Size: Hot-Swappable Brown Switch Color: Black
this keyboard is really good. I can fee; the quilty, many modes of lighting patterns. the brightness can change.I love the click. The brown key switches are for north gaming and typing, Well its not great great at open its good for both while red is best for gaming, and blue is best for typing. I wanted top have my keyboard to have a click but not too loud, this one is perfect and satisfying. wish it came in blue but it still is amazing, i might even prefer this color instead of blue. it is hefty which i love about things, and the weight, its heavy and i love heavy things that look like they wouldn't way as much .overall amazing. Update: After a couple years the n key sometimes works. I mean thing has lasted me a while. Bluetooth is somtimes finicky but overall it’s a good keyboard. ... show more

  • Know What You're Getting Into
Size: Hot-Swappable Brown Switch Color: Black
I want to preface this review by stating that the RK61 seems like a fairly high-quality product, even at the price. Unfortunately some design decisions were made which render the keyboard really cumbersome for me to use as someone who pretty much types all day. There are several positive reviews here already, which I don't really disagree with, but I'm going to list all of the reasons why I've switched back to using a clunky Logitech K780 keyboard as my daily driver instead. 1) Battery life. I didn't read carefully to see that battery life is only 10 hours of use. I've had the keyboard die on me now several times while I was in the middle of work. It comes back to life fairly quickly when you plug it back in but still, that gets old fast. My desk is really cramped, so having a wire draped across it all the time is an annoyance. 2) Function keys. Oh god. Trying to get this thing into the right mode so that the Delete key is actually a delete key and the question mark isn't functioning like a cursor is incredibly tedious. With no indicator lights you just sort of mash cryptic key combinations and pray they do the right thing. And having to constantly hit a function key to get to frequently-used keys like Delete is an enormous PITA. No. Just...no. 3) Bizarre behavior. I had all the lighting fail now twice, and haven't been able to reactivate it until the battery drained and I recharged the keyboard. Then it returned to normal control. It's not a huge deal - I can live without the lighting, although the keys are tiny and the font on them really hard to read when they aren't backlit. Still, another annoyance. 4) Size. The keyboard is tiny, which is great because my desk is cramped, but the keys themselves are a bit too small and tightly packed together for my hands. I don't have giant mitts, either. If you have tiny hands this might not be an issue, but for me I found the keyboard uncomfortable to type on for long stretches. The keyboard is also surprisingly tall compared to most modern keyboards, which are flatter and sleeker. I find that messes with the ergonomics of my desk, which is not height-adjustable. YMMV. Like I said, this is a quality product I think, but some frankly bizarre design decisions were made which make it the wrong keyboard for me. I wish I'd just given up on it sooner and returned it before the window closed. If you are considering one of their boards, they make a slightly larger keyboard (the RK71) with a dedicated Delete and cursor keys for not too much more. It's even full RGB if that matters to you, and I think it can pair with more devices. It supposedly has the same switches. Worth a look. ... show more
