This is an amazing keyboard. Typing feels great and the clacking sounds are soft and subdued. The volume knob works beautifully. The colorways are all great and hard to pick a favorite. I dislike that it doesn't have shine through keycaps as I'm usually in the dark, but a monitor light completely makes that irrelevant. Bought this recently. I love it. The build quality is excellent. The sound it makes is addictive. There are lots of ways to customize things via software but the thing I love the most about it is the sound and the feeling of typing with it. It's just very nice. The backlight, sadly, does not shine through the keys, which kind of defeats its purpose, but it does look nice. Overall, I definitely recommend this keyboard. This nearly full-sized keyboard is great for gamers and office alike. The keys feel extremely responsive using magnetic Hall effect. You don't have to press down very far for your input to be registered. And there is no "click," just one smooth motion down and back up. The mechanical keyboard is a bit noisy, but not as loud as "clicky" keys. The base is heavy and has a solid feel. It connects using a standard USBC cable. As far as cost, this is not one of those cheap keyboards, but it doesn't break the bank either. I feel like I get more than what I paid for in terms of quality. ... show more

    • Horrible web based software that bricks the device if trying to update.
Does not work after trying to upgrade. Stuck in upgrade mode. And there is no firmware for this model available. Check the Royal Kludge forums. There are many people like me that can't use this keyboard due to it being stuck in upgrade mode. And Royal Kludge has no answers. Do not buy this product.

    • Great Keyboard, without doupt!
Got it a couple of days ago, and immediately loved it! Connectivity - works right after plugging in the USB cable. Typing is very comfortable but at the same time not so loud as my previous mechanical keyboards. Performs great in games also with default settings. Didn't tweaked it yet fully, but the possibility of Web-based configuration control is great. My only personal suggest to upgrade the USB cable to more "beautiful" braided cable instead of generic one, but I presume it is personal POV. ... show more

The C98 is about two columns shorter than a full size keyboard. Switches are light and crispy.
