Please do not buy this shelf for kids or for any household!! I was eyeing this shelf for our newborn daughter’s nursery and decided to get it for the corner for organizing her books and Knick knacks. When my husband took it out of the box, the smell of chemicals and spray paint was overwhelming but he put it together in hopes it would air out. When it was finished, I found a sticker with a warning that the furniture contains formaldehyde and can cause cancer. I immediately told my husband to take it out of the nursery. Only thing i dont like is that the middle section is wasted space, so i opted out of installing the cardboard dividers so now 3 cubbies are extra deep and can hide things behind the cubbies i purchased. I now have bought 3 of these. My kids love theirs....really cute product that i totally recommend

This thing is big and sturdy. The instructions were easy to read. The pieces were all clearly labeled. There was one extra part but thankfully not short of anything. It took me awhile to build by myself but there’s a lot of hand screwing involved. It also takes up a lot of space while you’re working each step. I was actually in communication with the company because the white color was backordered. They were quick to respond and let me know when it’d be back in stock. Very happy with this. We are using it in the foyer to store all the kids shoes. They are taking over my shoe closet and it was madness in there. I hope this solution alleviates that headache. ... show more

    • Cute but not an effective use of the space

So biggest issue here is we believe that it takes up so much space and doesn’t take advantage of the space behind the front cubbies. It’s all inaccessible in the rear. They could’ve been a little better in designing a piece that takes advantage of all the available space. It is a nice piece for a kids room but the cubbies are small and it’s more for show ... show more

Pros: -it is one of the few pieces of corner furniture that extends outward into the room filling the space. The look of it fits well in my child’s room. - it is heavy and very sturdy Cons: -as many other reviewer‘s noted with their experiences, mine came a bit damaged, too. There are a few corners that were crushed and chipped. I just did not have it in me to pack the whole thing up and send it back so I did not say anything. - The odor people noted in other reviews is no joke! In fact, I went into my infant’s room to change her in the middle of the night and ended up taking her out of there for fear I was killing all of her brain cells . The odor is extremely strong and lasts for a few days - even with an exterior door open and fan on. - I was being very carefully during assembly and was using a small manual screwdriver. This is the perfect shelf for a small space. My daughter doesn’t have a large room. I wanted something that would hold a lot of books and fit into the corner since that is the only available wall space. This little shelf is perfect and looks really cute. I am a first grade teacher, and bought this for my classroom for reading group material organization. I LOVE it! Not yet pictured, bins to match my reading group colors: yellow, blue, and green. I put this together by myself, and it took about an hour and a half. Everything went very smoothly. Just make sure to lay everything out first. All holes were perfectly aligned, and there was no damage at all to the package or shelf upon arrival. I will say, the box itself is pretty heavy and it was really helpful to have a second person help me carry it. After assembly, I used a dolly to wheel it into place. I am not using the enclosed wall anchors only because the kids don't use it, and I may move classrooms next year. This was a great purchase and it sure made organizing reading group materials a little easier. ... show more

Just finished putting it together (took about 30 min). It's pretty gentile and scratches easily, but looks nice. What bothers me are the bins - they really should be half an inch higher, there is a significant gap between the top of the bin and the shelf, can be very clearly seen in the attached pictures. One review mentioned how if you don't install the deviders you can get extra storage space behind the bins, and I think it's a great idea, otherwise you have a lot of wasted space - 3 bins worth. If you choose to go that route keep in mind that if you don't put a bin in there will be a line seen where the devider would be, so plan ahead (I would put a devider on the shelf/es you don't plan on using bins on). ... show more
