I’ve played Moon Colony Bloodbath about five times now, with a mix of “board game people” and my family, and it’s been a hit with both groups. The biggest strength is how easy it is to understand—it doesn’t feel like a rules slog. The flow of the game and what you’re trying to do feels pretty intuitive, so you can get started quickly without constantly stopping to reference the rulebook. That said, it’s not shallow. Even though it’s approachable, it still keeps me thinking and planning the whole time. There’s enough strategy and decision-making to stay engaged and interested, which is exactly what I want from a card game like this. It’s one of those games that’s simple to get to the table, but has enough going on that I’m excited to play again. This game is fantastic! It has a lower skill floor that is easy to get into but also includes a lot of depth once you begin to understand synergies and combos. I’ve played this game with multiple groups and everyone asks to play again right after! I would really recommend this game for anyone who enjoys something similar to Magic: The Gathering but wants something easier to play with others that is more than fair. To close out my review, here is a tip: please thoroughly read the rule book! It includes examples of how mechanics work and interactions between buildings. we don't normally play deck/engine building games, but once you give it a play a time or two, it really gets to be a lot fun. the cards you get each game add new twists and keep it fresh, since every playthrough is different. would highly recommend giving it a chance if you've thought about expanding your board game library. the artwork and game pieces are high quality as well. if there were any negatives, it would be that the pieces do not have their own bags or removable compartments when you set up the game to play. you can 3d print items to help with this, but it's really not an issue. ... show more

I had a great time with Moon Colony Bloodbath. It’s easy to learn and get to the table, but there are still plenty of interesting decisions to make as the game progresses. It doesn’t take long before you’re completely caught up in trying to keep your colony alive! The game is a lot of fun, with just the right amount of tension and chaos to keep things interesting. Things don’t always go according to plan, which is part of what makes it so entertaining. It also works really well as a solo game. The gameplay stays engaging, and I never felt like I was missing out by playing alone. This game is fun and yet frustrating at the same time. You just start building your colony and then it all starts falling apart as the robots unlive your citizens left and right. It's a Bloodbath! But just as your colony is getting destroyed, so are your opponents. So it becomes a race to see who can avoid hitting the bottom.
