  • Ring Pet ID Tags
Size: 3 Pet Tags
We got these Ring pet ID tags for our three kittens. It’s their first time wearing collars, so they’ve been scratching and picking at them quite a bit. Even with all that, the tags and QR codes are holding up with no issues. Setting them up was quick, I added each one to my existing Ring profile in just a few minutes. I like that I could upload their photos and info right away, and the tags don’t need batteries or charging. I tested one of the tags with a friend scanning the code, and it worked perfectly. I got the alert instantly. What’s nice is you can be contacted without giving away your phone number, and the tags are super lightweight. The kittens don’t seem to notice them now that they’ve gotten used to the collars. This is a simple way to add a layer of safety and give you peace of mind to know someone can reach you fast if your pet wanders off. ... show more

  • Love them.
Size: 1 Pet Tag
I am so happy to have these! It's not often you see someone without a phone, and these are super easy to just scan and get all the info you need! They also have their ID tags, but you can only put so much on there for people to see. This is just another layer of protection and option to help bring my pups home if they were to ever get lost. I use ring for everything, and I absolutely love them! I never have any issues, and the customer service team is amazing. Technical support team is knowledgeable, which is a nice change. They are nicer than they look in the picture and are surprisingly quiet. ... show more

  • Convenient, Durable, and Perfect for Ring Users!
Size: 1 Pet Tag
I originally bought a two-pack for my two dogs and was so impressed that I just went back and bought another set for their extra harnesses. If you already have Ring products, this is a super convenient addition. The tags are easy to scan, and I love that you can update the address on the fly—perfect if you’re traveling or staying somewhere temporarily. Then you can easily switch it back to your home address. These are durable, sleek, and exactly the kind of tags you won’t have to keep replacing. They are about the size of a quarter. Definitely worth it! ... show more

  • Useful concept, mostly good - but not quite ready for prime time on Day One
Size: 1 Pet Tag
UPDATE: after posting my initial review (below), Ring staff quickly reached out to me by email to schedule time to to talk by phone so that they could learn more. I was impressed with how quickly Ring reached out, and how much they seemed to value my feedback. I was super-impressed to hear that their engineering team got immediately to work on a fix for the problem that I and others have seen with "dog weight entered not equal to the dog weight presented when someone scans the QR tag". Was also super-impressed with the caliber of the Ring staff person who I spoke with. Together, these are uncommon and special. For these reasons, I'm increasing my overall rating with this review from 1-star to 3-stars. UPDATE 2: Ring contacted me 10/10/23 and let me know they fixed the bug that had been causing weight of pet to display the incorrect weight in the pet profile. Just need to update the Ring app to get the resolved version. I’m updating my rating to 4-star because they fixed the bug so quickly and because Ring’s communication and follow up was excellent. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Just received my Ring Pet Tag. Two immediate failings and bugs that I see: 1) The enclosed instruction card is not helpful for getting started. It says: 1. “Download Ring app”. No problem, I already have it. 2. “Create your Pet Profile”. Poorly done: it isn’t immediately obvious where in the Ring app to start that process to create a Pet Profile. I had to hunt around for it, finally finding it buried in Settings > Users and Pets > Add User or Pet > Add a pet. Ring could do much better with the enclosed instruction card, to make it more immediately clear exactly where in the app to go to get started creating pet profile. 2) BUG: this one is even more important. I correctly entered the weight of my dog in the profile form: 63 lbs. Later, when I scanned the QR code on the pet tag to make sure everything is working as intended, the pet profile incorrectly shows she weighs 139 lbs. I double-checked and the profile form says 63 lbs; I double-checked and the profile page shows weight as as 139 lbs. (It may be coincidence, but 63 lbs = 139 kg. My guess is there is a bug incorrectly applying a conversion in the weight. I triple-checked and the form field says 63 lbs and the profile page shows 139 lbs. Bizarre.) This is a bug that should have easily been caught during QA, before the product was released. If I can identify and find that bug within 5 minutes of setting up the product, than Ring’s QA team should have been able to have caught it before the product was released. It makes me wonder what else isn’t working as intended, what else is broken? Trust is paramount in a product like this, and it is very delicate thing. Once broken, not easily regained. First impressions matter. My first impression of the Ring Tag is not good. ADDING TO MY REVIEW: - I think the Ring Pet Tag is a useful concept, and hopefully Ring will continue to iterate and improve the product and customer experience. - I like that it's integrated with my Ring app (already use other Ring products). - I don't like the overly-prominent Ring logo and tagline on the other side of the tag - I feel like my dog is a walking billboard for Ring (which I am sure Ring likes, but I'm not keen about. I think Ring could get their branding on the tag in a way that isn't overly-prominent. ... show more
