Top Amazon Reviews

  • Excellent outdoor camera with strong video quality and reliable app experience
We added two Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro units to our home in mid-November as our first outdoor security cameras, and after a few months of use they have performed very well. Video quality is impressive. The clarity both during the day and at night has been noticeably better than we expected from other outdoor camera systems we looked at. Motion detection alerts are helpful without feeling overly sensitive, and the ability to easily review recorded events gives peace of mind. Installation and setup were straightforward. The instructions were clear, and integrating the cameras into the Ring app was smooth. We now also have a few Ring-compatible smoke/CO detectors connected through the same app, and having everything in one place works well for our needs. App and features are strong. The Ring app is easy to navigate, the timelines are useful for catching events quickly, and the overall experience feels polished. Ring’s cloud storage and optional monitoring services provide flexibility depending on how much you want to use the system. Monitoring service is good. We chose Ring’s monitoring service and have been satisfied with the experience. I will avoid getting into specifics about our home or security routines here, but in general we feel comfortable with the notifications and support provided. Every home’s needs are different, but for anyone looking to step up to outdoor cameras with great video quality and a unified app experience, this has been a reliable choice for us. Highly recommended for first-time outdoor camera buyers and those upgrading from basic systems. ... show more

  • Amazing Clarity and Advanced Features!
The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro is absolutely fantastic! The Bird’s Eye View and 3D motion detection are game changers for home security, providing a detailed and comprehensive view of the surrounding area. I love how it not only captures motion from all angles but also allows me to track movement across my property, ensuring I never miss anything important. The HD video quality is crystal clear, and the floodlights are extremely bright, providing excellent visibility even at night. The camera’s color and night vision are top-notch, making it easy to identify people and objects in the yard no matter the time of day or night. Setting up the camera was quick and easy, and the integration with the Ring app is seamless, allowing me to view live footage, receive alerts, and communicate through the two-way audio feature. I feel so much safer with this camera installed—it gives me peace of mind knowing that my home is under 24/7 surveillance. The motion alerts are highly customizable, and the security light is powerful enough to deter any unwanted visitors. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-quality security camera with advanced features, I highly recommend the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro. It’s everything you need for superior home protection. ... show more

  • GREAT product, but know your Wi-Fi and internet’s limitations
We have a large 3-level house, so I bought 5 of these to get complete coverage. We also have a ring doorbell. I’ll break down my review into parts because I have a lot to say. nstallation The base comes with a built-in tab that you can hang the unit from while you’re on the ladder and wiring it up. This works well if you’re mounting it vertically. However I had 2 locations where I had to mount it upside down (replacing older light fixtures), and in that case the ribbon holding the unit wasn’t long enough, so I had to rig up an extension with an old lanyard. The ribbon needs to be just 2” longer. Activation in the App Ring did a great job here. Every one of my units was connected to Wi-Fi within a few minutes, and after downloading the latest code they were off and running. I used my iPhone 13 for setup, and it’s very intuitive if you’re somewhat technically inclined. Connectivity I checked the device health and noticed that 3 units were in the red, so I added a UniFi Wi-Fi access point to that side of the house, which mostly solved the problem. Ideally you want the RSSI to be better than -70, but I have one unit that still shows -74 and it works fine. Live View takes 3-4 seconds to come up on all my units. My 2 access points are UniFi UAP-AC-HD and UniFi UAC-AC-PRO. Day-to-Day Use The Ring software comes with a rich set of options. We had to activate Smart Alerts to avoid getting alerts for cats and raccoons, but that feature works well. The lights still come on immediately, but it seems to takes a few more seconds to get an alert for a Person. This is a fair trade-off. Ring’s app is easy to use, and my non-nerd wife figured it out pretty quickly. I signed up for Protect Plus, currently $10 a month. It stores 60 days of video with no usage limits. I feel like this is a good price. Summary I haven’t used older Ring units, so I can’t compare to them, but I’m very happy with the quality of Ring’s latest software and hardware. This weekend I’ll be adding an indoor alarm system. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Pretty good camera, good to maybe 20'
I should give it 4.5 stars. Easy setup. Picture could be better, but it is better than the plus. User interface is good, lots of options. The compression algorithm could be better, after all most of a scene of a yard or fence doesn't move or change quickly. Compared to the cost of a wired video system, really good. Video is better than a pro, probably good to 15 or 20 feet. I guess I will try the 4K version one day, they are too expensive to outfit my house at the moment ... show more

  • Ceiling mount, works really well
Ceiling mounting is feasible, and the light rain cover looks much better than the non-Pro Floodlight Cam (no upside-down appearance). With a plug-in adapter installed under the eave, both the light angle and camera angle work well. Just wonder how long it will last and if it can hold in rain.

  • Not good for looking at wildlife at night
The first one was faulty but Amazon replaced it immediately . It is very easy to install. I had mine to watch the wild life at night as we get deer, raccoons , Armadillos etc, however the quality at night is very disappointing , light comes on but then it’s a blurred picture
