I’m really impressed with this Ring doorbell. The 2K video is super clear, and the wide-angle view makes it easy to see the whole area around my front door. The 6x zoom is also really useful when I need to see something farther away. Setup was quick and straightforward, and I like that the battery is rechargeable so I didn’t have to deal with complicated wiring. The motion alerts come through quickly, and being able to see and talk to someone at the door from my phone is a great feature. Overall, this is a great doorbell camera for the price. The video quality, wide viewing angle, and easy installation make it a big upgrade. Definitely recommend it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

So I had Imou for the longest time and have been paying a monthly fee for practically nothing because it never picked up and advised me of any details when I seriously needed them. I tried a RING camera at some point last year and for one reason or another it just did not work out so I returned it. This time, I decided to try an updated RING camera and THIS is exactly what I hoped for and needed. I absolutely adore the details of what this RING offers. I mean just look at my screenshots! I don't even have to have the motion detection setting on high to get the results I need because it's perfect. When it tells me there's "motion detection" without any details I know that it's because something like a tree branch or bird flying created a shadow or something like that. But when an actual person or vehicle is pulling up into my driveway this unit actually tells me that "there is a white vehicle pulling into your driveway" and "a person is walking up to your door". You can even see in one of my photos that this unit told me that a UPS truck was driving by. And I get these notifications as they're occurring, whereas the competitor would give me a notification AFTER a vehicle has already gone or when someone was already in the house Imou would say there's motion at your front door AFTER the person's already in my home. I could be robbed or murdered before Imou even mentioned somebody was here which is ridiculous. With RING, I'm getting these notifications as it's happening in real time, like it should!! The security of RING is undeniable the best. When someone actually uses the doorbell the communication sound quality is perfection and it's very difficult for me to use the word 'Perfection' on anything so that means a lot. Imou has it to where you have to push a button to speak and then push it again to hear what the other person is saying (SO STUPID) and the sound quality was horrible. But I have the complete opposite effect with this RING. I literally just click 1 single button to talk back and forth like being on a telephone. That brings me to another advantage. I absolutely love when someone actually pushes the button for the doorbell my phone actually rings as if it's a FaceTime phone call and I couldn't be happier to be able to communicate with somebody at my front door from the backyard or even my bedroom with perfect easy and sound. If I'm waiting for a package to be picked up (I ship merchandise out as I have a business out of my home) and somebody is at my front door when I'm in my backyard I can easily tell them from my phone I will be right there instead of trying to rush to the door before they give up and walk away. It was extremely easy to install and it's extremely easy to use. It is awesomely compatible with my Alexa. Alexa tells me that "a package has just been set on your table" or "A person is at your door". That is so helpful it's insane. The first time I heard Alexa say that, I laughed out loud with complete satisfaction. Value for the money?? CHECK!! The cat outside was ringing the doorbell and literally peaking into the actual camera lens, as you can see from my video and pictures. I've tried to get her to come in to get out of the hot Florida sun but she will not. She is perfectly comfortable being in my doorway where there is shade and I always refresh the water out there for the kitties. During the video of her ringing the doorbell she's actually pregnant and I had no idea. When she came back and rang the doorbell again I noticed her belly was way smaller and a little tiny orange baby hiding behind her as if to say "mama or are you sure about this". When I opened the door and gave them their flower dish and fresh water as you can see in my photo everything was blissful and I got to watch both Mommy and one of her babies eat and drink with comfort and then fall back asleep in the shaded doorway. Look at the screenshot with Imou and RING together and see the difference. I still have to figure out a few things, but I know that it won't be difficult for me. So I have already canceled my subscription with Imou and am about to begin my actual subscription with RING because my free trial is up tomorrow. I wanted to wait the entire 13 days of the free trial before doing an actual review so that I can play with it and test it and see what it's capable of and boy am I ready. So yes, now RING will be getting my monthly fee instead of Imou. Would I recommend this particular product to people? Oh absolutely YES!!

Ring has significantly upgraded the optical sensors in the latest generation. This battery doorbell offers crisp 2K HD resolution w/up to 6x zoom. I chose this model for the features, head-to-toe aspect ratios, which are fantastic for monitoring packages left directly on your porch. I also love that there is text of the movement description. Nighttime visibility is also excellent, featuring true-color low-light settings & sharp infrared night vision. I have spot lights on the house at night, they do not interfere w/getting great pictures. This wire-free model boasts Ring's highly efficient Quick release battery pack, super simple to remove, charge & put back together. I am told under normal conditions, you can expect around 120 days of battery life per charge. Although it was delivered only 20% charged & it took about 4 hours to fully charge. When it is time to recharge, a convenient USB-C port is used, not included. Alternatively, if you have existing doorbell wiring, you can hardwire these units for a continuous trickle charge but I chose to cap my old doorbell wires & just use the battery. So far it catches all motion near the front of my house which makes me sleep sound and secure. So far I am pleased with the quality & ease of use and installation.

I would give it 5 stars IF Ring offered a legible user's manual and/or offered "how to" videos on its website. I have gotten a better user's manual with an electric toothbrush; the one included in the Ring box tells a user nothing of value and the font is incredibly small. For exz., it says to charge the camera but does not tell you where the charging port is or how to access it. The user is to install the Ring app but it doesn't tell you where to find it, amazingly, not on the Ring website. The AI response I got was totally wrong about where the charging port is located. It is located on the back of the camera under a tiny little piece of removable rubber, no way I would have found it without YouTube. The initial charge took almost 4 hours using high speed 5g WiFi. I miss the section for user reviews in which others could relate problems they encountered and how they fixed them...I HATE the AI generated answers and know many other shoppers do too. Happily there are YouTube videos that save the day. The camera itself is a 5 star, setting it up was relatively easy, but it will be an ongoing series of adjustments until I finally get it configured the way I want it. Mounting it is another story. There are two screw holes but the package only included one screw. There is mention of an alternative mounting using double sided tape but, the camera is quite heavy, much heavier than my Samsung Galaxy phone, and I fear tape would not support it. My door and door frame are metal so the one screw they included won't work anyway. I do not like the fact that to get any real benefit from the camera I will have to buy at least a basic subscription but I knew that before I bought it, I just don't like it. If you are shopping for a doorbell camera, this is a good basic option but take the time to look at other cameras and watch multiple YouTube videos before you take the plunge. UPDATE: I have had the camera for a week and am still trying to figure out how to use it. The camera itself is fine but there are no instructions as to how to actually use it. I have no idea how to save a video should I need to, for exz., I have no idea how to save a video or to export it should I need to. I've searched the Ring website and it is mostly a sales vehicle. Amazon used to have a Q&A feature in which othe users could respond to questions but I can't find one for Ring, the Amazon AI is useless for most things.

Extremely pleased. Had a package stolen from my front door, so I jumped on this deal. Simple to set up with the anti-theft holder to the door. Today is one week it's been up. I have the settings turned to super sensitive at my door and walkway, so this is how it is going for the battery life: on day 6, it is at 91%. I bought the flat charging cord and it is connected/plugged in to the back of the device, and hidden by the anti-theft bracket. The flat charging cord winds along the inside of the anti-theft bracket into the inside of the door...so now I can conveniently charge it when needed without taking the Ring doorbell down. I hid the inside flat charging wire (so they dont show on the inside of the door) in a small, hard, magnet closure gift box that I attached to the inside of the door with galaxy tape, opposite of the Ring (so it is a "tiny 6" cabinet" to open) and matches the color of my door inside. I bought the 'sticky hooks' for the inside of the magnetic closure box to wind and hang the flat cord so it stays untangled. It's not an eyesore and looks very tidy hidden away. There was NO way I was going to keep taking down the doorbell fully to charge it when needed. No patience to keep taking it down over & over again...it would've gotten old fast and would be very frustrating! Now all I have to do is open my little "cabinet" inside of the front door and remove the flat cord off of the hook to plug it in. The doorbell has a nice pocket in the back that allows you to keep the charging cord attached to the doorbell after installation (through the anti-theft mount) so you can hide the flat charging cord behind the metal plate around to the inside. If the thought of taking this down to charge frustrates you...do it this way! I dont mind paying the small subscription fee. It beats the frustration of having another package stolen and having to reorder it all over again. Great choice, very glad I bought this along with the flat charging cord and plug-in doorbell chime.

So far I have loved having this. Haven't had any issues. The battery life is amazing! It took almost 2 months for the battery to run low, to 30%. So I'd say that's a pretty good battery! The video quality is really good, the distance of the view isn't the greatest but it's still decent. The sound quality is even better. The only thing I don't like, which this has nothing to do with the camera itself. But in order to record and be able to go back and see, you have to obtain a subscription for it. If you don't have that subscription, you can only see live views. Overall, I love it and definitely recommend it!

I received this doorbell in a package deal offering that included a spot light cam during Amazon Prime day. My existing Ring doorbells were old versions and I felt it was time to upgrade. I currently have a few extra batteries for the older doorbell versions, but Ring has decided to move away from that for their newer doorbells. The new ones have a built in battery that require the user to remove the entire doorbell cam from its installed location in order to recharge. I am not a fan of that which resulted in me getting off my butt and troubleshooting my doorbell system in order to get power to the doorbell's location. I was successful in doing so, so the doorbell is now constantly being charged. The doorbell, due to the permanent battery, is smaller than the older versions and seems to provide a wider view. Because of this, I was able to relocate the installed location to where the traditional doorbell button was located. Installation through the years has become much less of a technological burden though I do miss some of the extras Ring used to provide such as a level to assist in proper device positioning. The process is easy to understand and the app guides you along to install the device on your network. What I don't like - for ANY of the new Ring products is the lack of included installation instructions. While getting connected to your network and adding the device to the app is easier, the user now has to take the extra steps to locate and follow installation instructions from the internet. This is much more inconvenient while I was attempting to read the instructions off of a cell phone while standing on a ladder during flood light installs. Also, for one of the newer devices, I could not locate the instructions even though there was a clickable link for it on Ring's website. I get Ring is attempting to cut down on paper, but not including installation instructions isn't the best choice when it results in an inconvenience to its customers. Here's the disappointing part - not as much with this 2K doorbell as it is with my recently acquired 4K floodlight, spot light and stick up cams. It is this reason why I would NEVER currently entertain the thought of purchasing their 4K doorbell - especially considering the premium price they are asking. The video is terrible. I'm not sure what Ring has done with their cameras, but the videos from their newer devices - and especially the new 4K ones - appear washed out. It's almost as if there is too much blue tint - think of the "cool" setting some devices offer as a setting choice your LCD TVs and cameras from other vendors may provide. The colors are just off and there's no way to correct them in the app. Though the doorbell is impressive in displaying color with minimal background lighting at night, the resultant video appears to be viewed in a foggy haze. Honestly in all of these updated versions of their cameras I have gone back to them to verify I neglected to remove what might be a plastic protective cover over the lens. I will provide a more detailed version of this issue in my spot light cam review because in its case, the night vision was so foggy I was forced to request a replacement for the new one thinking it was defective. Sadly, its replacement is no different. Although the zoom of this 2K version may provide a little more detail than the older 1080 one, the video quality seems worse and less vivid. I have gone back and forth between my older 1080 videos and this new one to verify (I still have two older 1080 doorbells installed.) the differences. So would I replace the remaining older doorbells with this newer version even if it is 2K vice 1080? Unfortunately my answer is probably not for a number of reasons. As previously stated, the video isn't as vivid or as clear to warrant the upgrade. As a long time Ring customer, I have several batteries that are no longer needed due to the change in their form factor and my issue with that is the doorbell's durability. Batteries wear out with lower useful capacity as time goes on. True, in this case, I was able to hardwire the doorbell, but in the case of the other older doorbells I have installed, hardwiring is not an option. So when the permanently installed battery in the newer version starts to diminish in capacity or fails altogether I would be forced to purchase a new doorbell instead of replacing the battery. I simply don't feel the upgrade is worth it if my older versions are still functioning. Additionally when or if the older versions DO fail, I am not sure I would purchase a Ring because of the lackluster video it provides. One more positive concerning the app. At the time I reviewed a 2K floodlight cam a year ago, the app response was very slow and cause degraded live video feeds within seconds. It appears that issue has been rectified as lag time to access the live feed has been significantly reduced for all of my devices (with no upgrades to my network) Hopefully improvements can be made to the devices to provide clear, crisp videos going forward.

Great improvements, but still could be better. Overall, very satisfied with the 2nd Gen/newest model Battery Doorbell compared to previous models we've owned. Impressive field of view and clarity. The recognition of whom delivery people work for is unexpected in the text recap of the camera capture. Main room for improvement is the hard wired component. Yes, this is a battery doorbell. Yet hard wiring is an option. So you would anticipate that would charge more than it does. Otherwise very pleased with the purchase and would recommend.
