    • I really like these wine glasses!

These are very nice glasses! I am not a wine glass aficionado, so I can't really compare this to too many other glasses, but compared to the ones that I have used, these make a notable difference. The aromas (as I'll call them) really come out with the wine, and the glass feels really nice in my hand. Sipping is also easier with these as well, as I noticed that when sipping from some wine glasses, some wine will trail down the side of the glass, where as with these it isn't really an issue. And I didn't even think that a wine glass can make a difference when it comes to swirling wine, but these do make a difference, and I really like how much easier and pleasant it is to swirl the wine in these glasses. One word of caution: As others have noted, these are very thin glasses, so they need to be handled with much care. When washing these, DO NOT wash them with hot water, as they can shatter due to the thermal shock. And DO NOT put these in the dishwasher either! DO only hand-wash these glasses, and DO only use either warm or cool water to wash these! In conclusion, these are very nice glasses, and I highly recommend these to anyone! ... show more

    • The stems are sturdy and grew on me.
I was a bit unsure of the stem when theses arrived. I prefer a smooth stem and these have a column from foot to bowl. Instead of looking like a one piece mold it appears the bowl was added or set on top of the stem. After reading some of the other reviews about stem breakage, I decided to keep these because they seemed sturdier. Well now they’ve really grown on me and they are my go to glass.     • Real Red Wine Glasses Actually Work!
I know you're skeptical, but I finally invested in a pair of these since my twin brother swore on my grave (hey, wait a minute!) that wine really does taste better in these glasses... and know what? He's right! It mostly has to do with the smell ("bouquet") of the wine, and these glasses are specifically engineered to deliver on that front for full-bodied reds like Merlot, Cabernet, and even old-vine Zin. If you're on the fence, these are a very well-made good-feeling-in-the-hand pieces of glassware that you will be glad you bought...     • The Wine Glass You Use Does Make a Difference

Some wine experts say it is a myth but I have proven time and time again, with many friends and family, that the wine glass you use can totally change how the wine you drink tastes and feels. There are many scientific reasons for this that I could share with you but I will leave that for others. I have used this glass for over 21 years, always keeping at least 8 available. They do break from time to time, but make the wine they hold taste so good I must have them. It all started in 2001, as I recall, it was a breakthrough year for German Rieslings, the first time I really got into them. A wine friend and I went to one of our favorite wine shops and bought two mixed cases from different weinguts and of different styles. The store owner suggested I buy these glasses to fully appreciate the wine. I was skeptical but decided to give them a try. I did a few tests myself, with the standard generic wine glass, a juice glass, and these and was blown away. Some days later I took the wines and the glasses to a family gathering and all were impressed. Even my mother-in-law, who had no real palate for wine, was convinced. Since then I have hosted dozens and more wine tastings and convinced many that the glass you use makes a difference. Often to their amazement. Now once you look into this you will see that there are an endless variety of glasses by multiple manufactures, glasses for all different types of wines, beers, and even cocktails. I have found, having owned and used many of these, that this glass is in my humble opinion is the best everyday glass. Great quality, deliver a great drinking experience and not too expensive. I sent these to my grandparents as a gift. We love Reidel glasses and go through a lot of them in this specific style. I had ordered the Cabernet style, but was instead sent a set of shorter-stemmed, smaller glasses. They didn’t know they were sent something wrong and hadn’t told me. Not really sure what to do on how to get the correct glasses at this point. ... show more
