    • 3rd party seller Blundee Wholesale is a fraud are NOT a Ridgid authorized dealer NO warranty!
The product had a defect on initial use which indicated a chipped blade. Ridgid would not warranty it because this 3rd party seller is not authorized Bu them. Blundee wholesalers first said they would not take it back because it was used - well you had to use it to discover the issue! They said to go through Ridgid for warranty work: I actually tried that first but they are not an authorized dealer so Ridgid would not honor the warranty. Amazon finally told them to take it back (which was a fiasco). Then they only refunded 50% since it was used. Amazon tried to make them refund the rest (unsuccessfully). Amazon repeatedly said they would refund the rest under what they said was their A-Z claim (including the cost I had to pay to package it back up and send. That went on for weeks with each customer service representative saying they would take care of it. Finally about 2-3 months into this senerio a supervisor finally got me the refund. Blonder Wholesale should be banned from selling Ridgid products and probably should be banned from Amazon. One of the many CS reps I talked to said they were opening a investigation on it (I’ll probably never hear anything about that). In short, me and you as a customer can’t really know who 3rd party sellers are on Amazon to verify if they are legitimately reselling products, so Amazon should be policing stuff like this. I bought this thru Amazon sold by Cubier LLC. It arrived and works fine, but the package box advertises a lifetime warranty from Rigid. When I called Rigid to register the lifetime parts and service guarantee, they told me that Cubier is not a authorized dealer and was not eligible for the free lifetime guarantee.     • I would not recommend this planer.
I purchased this planer as a replacement to my 22 year old TP1300. That old Rigid was a work horse with thousand of board feet through it. So when it finally gave up the ghost I figured I'd buy another Rigid. After using this model (R4331) for the last 6 hours I can say that I would not recommend it. It is super cheaply constructed compared to the old TP1300. I ran 18 red oak boards (6" wide) through it. I needed to take them from 1-1/8" to 3/4" in thickness. I have given up for the evening at 15/16". The machine literally started to fall apart. All 4 of the top post bolts loosened up to the point one fell out. The hand crank feels super grindy. the indicut indicator did not work at all and would not allow boards to be fed in until I took it apart and freed it up. The bed plate is so thin that its all warped and twisted. The old TP1300 had no issues taking a 3/32 hog cut in red oak. this machine struggles to feed anything heavier than 1/64 cut and the depth of cut drifts.     • A bit underpowered
I bought one of these last month and upgraded it with a Shelix helical cutterhead. It does a great job with the softer hardwoods I've worked with this month, primarily Teak and Tigerwood. It's not powerful enough to plane the harder woods I've tried to put through it (Cumaru, Purple Heart, and Ipe), and either tears the boards up or overloads and trips offline. Overall, it's a decent planer, but doesn't have the power that I need. ... show more

    • It was good until it stopped working
I got it at a local home improvement store for a cheaper price than other brands. It did a good job until it stopped working one day. I followed the very basic recommendations from the user’s manual to no avail. When I called Ridgid and tried to use the “life time warranty” I found out that there are no Service centers within a 100 mile radius of Atlanta. Website is outdated. No manual to help disassembly (even at the expense of losing the “warranty”). It’s now a very expensive paper weight. ... show more
