I've had an on-going moth problem which began with an infested bag of corn-based kitty litter (apparently whatever they do to the litter kills the moths, but not the eggs). Moths were driving me crazy even though I had cedar ball,sachets,etc. in my closet and drawers. Since getting this product, moths have virtually disappeared! Put them in clothing drawers and left some out and voila! Highly recommend this product! P.S. I had also switched my litter to the Green Tea Leaves product (which works incredibly I might add - people say they can't tell there are cats in the house) but the moths were still finding something to feed on and hatch.

I have been using these sachets for many years now. They have really done the job keeping moths at bay, and the scent is not unpleasant. The price has gone up significantly since I began buying them years ago, but I still consider these a great alternative to harsh chemicals and smelly mothballs. I usually hang a few in each closet as well as put them in the bags and boxes that I store out of season clothes in.

It is important to check the expiration date of these sachets since they only last about 2-3 months. When you open the package and take them out of the cellophane wrapper the herbal scent should be strong, not weak. I usually purchase them a home goods store but they only had product that was good for a few months. So, instead I ordered from Amazon.com and received very fresh and strongly scented sachets just the way they are supposed to be. Richards Homewares recommends that these sachets be used in closed containers, not open closets. But, I usually place a few in the closet anyway. I hope this will be helpful!

I bought these to add to storage totes with extra linens that I keep in our garage. I just started using them so I can not tell you about their length of effectiveness, but I certainly do like their scent instead of moth balls. I also lke that they come in little "tea bags" so that makes it easy to handle and to gauge how many to use per container. The company recommends using 2 bags per one cubic foot so that is what I have used.

Convenient to use and does appear to be non-toxic (no bad smells). I think my biggest disappointment is that I have tons of lavender and rosemary in my garden (Mediterranean climate) and keep mint in my kitchen garden so all the fragrances are better in the garden than in the sachet. The sachets that were put in my drawers ran out pretty quickly (3 or so weeks). The ones that were still in the unopened plastic packaging still had fragrance. Perhaps it would have been better to make larger sachets and provide fewer of them that would have allowed the scent to be greater. I am not sure how well they work for keeping out moths. I use fresh lavender from my garden and it works ok but not as well as mothballs. But I want non-toxic and so I use cedar which I think works better, although I prefer the fragrance of the herbs.

So much better than mothballs. No chemicals and they have a fresh scent. Using them for items being stored. Great inside suitcases in between trips.
