  • A must-read if you’re serious about building long-term wealth A must-read if you’re serious about building long-term wealth
Format: Hardcover
“Rich AF” by @your.richbff is an excellent, no-nonsense guide to getting your financial life together without the shame, jargon, or gatekeeping. I highly recommend this book for anyone who needs to repair their credit, start saving, or learn how to invest for their future. It breaks down money concepts in a way that actually makes sense and feels doable, whether you’re just starting out or trying to undo years of not-so-great financial habits. Vivian Tu explains why certain money rules matter and how to apply them in real life, not just in theory. This is a great starter book for learning it all: budgeting, credit, investing, and mindset. The biggest takeaway? Think like a rich person, not your parents. It challenges outdated advice and replaces it with smarter, modern strategies that fit today’s economy. Approachable, empowering, and genuinely motivating. This book makes you feel capable instead of overwhelmed. A must-read if you’re serious about building long-term wealth and financial confidence. 💸 ... show more

  • Empowering Your Financial Journey: A Refreshing Guide to Money Mastery
Format: Hardcover
Rich AF: The Winning Money Mindset That Will Change Your Life by Vivian Tu is a transformative read that demystifies the often intimidating world of finance, making it accessible and engaging for everyone, regardless of their financial literacy level. This book is not just another finance guide; it's a refreshing take on how to cultivate a winning mindset towards money, wealth, and success. What sets this book apart is its approachability. Vivian Tu writes in a conversational tone that feels like chatting with a wise, financially savvy friend rather than sifting through a textbook full of jargon. This makes "Rich AF" an incredibly easy read, so much so that I found myself turning the last page after just three days, eager to apply the insights and strategies discussed. The book’s strength lies in its ability to speak to a broad audience. Whether you're a complete novice looking to make your first foray into financial planning or someone with a decent grasp of the basics aiming to deepen your understanding, "Rich AF" has you covered. Vivian’s guidance is practical, grounded in real-life experiences and examples that resonate with a wide range of readers. One of the most compelling aspects of "Rich AF" is its emphasis on mindset. It's not merely about the mechanics of managing money but about shifting your perspective to embrace abundance, strategic thinking, and proactive financial management. This approach ensures readers don't feel belittled or overwhelmed; instead, you'll finish the book feeling empowered, informed, and ready to take control of your financial future. I cannot recommend "Rich AF" highly enough. It's a must-read for anyone and everyone interested in transforming their relationship with money. Whether you're looking to escape the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle, save for a big life goal, or simply become more financially literate, this book will provide the tools, confidence, and mindset shift needed to make it happen. Give it a read – your future self will thank you. ... show more

  • Great book!
Format: Hardcover
I went to college with Vivian (though we never actually spoke on campus) and when she made it big, I was really excited. Pre-ordered this book and I must say, it delivers. Though I am likely not the intended audience (I already read widely on personal finance and have been investing for years), the book still had a lot of great insight. Some things she does well: 1) she writes how she talks. If you enjoy her videos and her social media appearances, you will enjoy the writing in the book 2) she makes things easy to understand. Using hilarious and relatable analogies, she breaks down the differences between different kinds of investment types, retirement accounts, and why you will never be worse off in terms of taxes for earning more money (hint: the marginal tax rate is not the same as your overall tax rate. Can you believe I actually know someone who turned down a promotion because she thought she'd be paying more taxes with a higher salary?!?) 3) The book has lots of actionable steps, from creating a budget to the difference between the snowball and avalanche methods of debt repayment. Overall, excellent book, especially for beginners to the world of personal finance. If you are someone who reads personal finance books for a hobby, then this book could still be a great read, but it is not as likely to be life changing. However, if you are a Gen Zer or Millennial who has never even put a cent into stocks before, or if you have no idea what an IRA is, then this book is for you (and, if you actually implement the book's advice, it could potentially even be life changing for you!). ... show more

  • Solid and relatable basics
Format: Hardcover
First, this is a beginner financial book but that is NOT a reason to discount stars. Appreciate the voice and perspective and the drive to remind people how to make money work for you in your life. Second, appreciate the author being relatable to so many, particularly to university generations or ties just starting out. So many “advisors” bury you in unnecessary financial jargon …. avoid those people at all costs. Overall, the book is good at core basics (the only part I don’t completely agree with is using debt) and it is easy to read and reference the way it is laid out. If you are starting out and looking to get your money to work for you, ESPECIALLY if you are a woman and or trying to gain your own financial independence, this book is a great place to start. ... show more

  • Rich AF: The Winning Money Mindset That Will Change Your Life
Format: Hardcover
Loved reading this. It is easy to understand and written for anyone who is started out and working and saving. The first time I read it for the fun of it and the second time, write down all the things that you can apply to your life. If you follow her on social media, it sounds just like her. It is humorous, straight forward and has lots of tips that everyone can use. ... show more

  • Absolutely love this book
Format: Hardcover
This book is definitely worth the read! Some things are beginner financial knowledge but I still felt like the book was so valuable! So many great suggestions and resources I never knew about. This book has definitely helped me think differently about money and making the best decisions! Best of of all the advice is advice beyond what you see on social media from others. She never makes you feel bad for how you spend your money either which I love. This is a must read! ... show more

  • solid, actionable advice for everyone regardless of income or background
Format: Kindle
I consider myself somewhat financially savvy. I’m certainly not Warren Buffett- but I never carry a balance on my credit cards, I contribute to my 401k, and I have a brokerage account. I wasn’t sure how much actual actionable advice there would be in this book, but I truly felt like I was learning something new every chapter. All of the advice in here is written out in a way to not only educate, but motivate you to act on it. I was really impressed not only at how great the explanations for seemingly complicated concepts were, but also how step-by-step and clear it is to actually start DOING the thing. I really appreciated all the breakdowns regarding how to invest and how to prioritize your investing. I didn’t know anything about HSA’s, and they always seemed like kind of a niche, unnecessary thing (as a healthy 30 year old, a health savings account just doesn’t seem like something that would set me up for success), BUT! Now I know better thanks too Vivian! I highly recommend this book, no matter your financial situation or age. There’s a ton of fantastic advice and resources, and its written in a very fun and empathetic way. I plan on telling all my friends and mom about it! ... show more

  • Good Gen Z introduction to personal finance
Format: Kindle
I’m a fan of Vivian’s social media channels, so when she announced she was publishing a book, I pre-ordered months in advance and was excited to dig into it. In Rich AF, Vivian does a really nice job speaking directly to Gen Z women who may be dabbling in personal finance but who need a mentor’s guidance in nailing the basic principles that will set them up for life. This would be a great gift for savvy college students and graduates to give them a head start. As someone who has been investing for 15 years (literally since my final semester in college), I didn’t find anything for me that was novel which is perhaps a positive. Interestingly, what makes the tone of the book accessible feels like it will also make it dated and audience specific. For example, Vivian leans into acronyms (e.g., “IDGI” and “FYP”) which make it less accessible to older readers and specific to recent social trends. She also regularly references spending on Sephora, manicures, and designer purses, clearly targeting her female fans versus a broader audience. There is also a puzzling section of the book where Vivian goes on the offensive to attack the FIRE movement, which feels completely unnecessary and naive. For example, she claims rebranding of FIRE as the “FU number”, which was actually a popular concept/phrase on blogs 15 years ago before I’d ever heard about the FIRE movement. On naive, she seemed to completely ignore the perspective that some people to choose to “retire early” from corporate in order to become stay-at-home parents or to care and be with ailing parents/family in their final years. I set the book down at this point and haven’t been able to pick it up again since. Overall, a good primer on financial literacy. If you already know the basics, you likely won’t need this book. If you’re looking for a gift for a young woman in your life, this would be a great, accessible place for her to start. ... show more
