Pros: +Clean design +Protects well +Good grip Cons: -Very tight to install, really have to press harder on the phone than I'd prefer === This is a great case. I have never used a bumper case before but I like that the back is exposed. It did come with a cheap plastic protector for the back when I used for about a day then took off because it was unsightly and didn't cover all of the surface area anyway. The case protects well--you can rest it face down and the screen isn't touching the surface. The open back shows off the nice finish of your phone which is often blocked by full cases. The buttons are really responsive with the bumper on which is due to how tight it is--a bad thing for installing because you really have to press hard on the corners of your phone to get this case to fit, but once it does it's not coming off unless you put an excessive amount of force into doing so. This can be a good or bad thing I guess, since how often will you be removing this? One reason I like the open back is it allows the phone to ventilate easier and, if it gets wet as I like to take my phone in the shower to watch videos, it dries out much faster since it's not as enclosed as regular cases. Overall, I will probably only use bumper cases going forward and this brand did a really good job with this one. ... show more

For anyone that remembers Antennagate with the original iPhone 4, this bumper accomplishes the same job as that original bumper. I chose the white bumper because it contrasts well with the midnight green iPhone. I recommend this bumper if you want protection for your iPhone but still retain the ability to appreciate the thinness of the iPhone. The bumper protects the iPhone from falls and drops on flat surfaces. The camera bump is protected too. If you drop your iPhone on rocks or non-flat surface, you risk cracking the front or back. The tactile feedback for the volume and power button provides a satisfying click. The mute rocker is easily accessible with the bumper on. Another benefit is it allows direct contact with a wireless charger, thus improving charging efficiency. ... show more

This case isn’t as soft and rubbery/cushiony as it looks. I worry that it won’t offer much protections from drops because the plastic is rock hard. It’s also quite slippery, more than the phone is by itself. I do like how you can customize the combination of colors with the modular design though. The price seems too high for what you’re getting though, it’s only a partial case, $25 seems like what I’d pay for a quality name brand full case. ... show more

Was heading out the other week and got distracted and left my wallet and iphone on the hood of my Jeep. After about 2 miles I realized that my wallet was flapping on the hood of my jeep but my Iphone was no where to be seen. After tracing my route back to my home could not find my Iphone. I logged into my computer and used Icloud to locate my phone... and it seemed to still be moving lol. I found her under a group of mail boxes as someone has propped her upright. My Iphone was unscaved and the RhinoShield Bumper Case had taken 100% of the damage... Scratch and torn, I immediately placed an order for another one. Not sure how fast I was going when my Iphone made her maiden voyage as was launch off my Jeeps hood but I stand by this product now. I have used many iphone cased and bumpers over the years and either they where to big or to flimsy... From the photos, this looks a lot slimmer than it is. This is my first RhinoShield product, and I don't know that I would get another one. For a bumper case, it adds a lot more bulk than I would have expected, and the material just feels a bit cheaper than what I would have hoped for. It is very slippery, I feel like rubberized the borders would improve this product a lot. I am keeping it and put it on occasionally, but I like my $8 case better ... show more

I had this bumper case on my iPhone 6 Plus for almost 5-1/2 years and it protected that phone wonderfully. I did not use the back film as I don't like anything covering the front or back of my phone. My iPhone 6 Plus looked like new when I recently got the iPhone 11 Pro Max, so naturally I got the same Rhinoshield bumper guard for it. I got the camo green, which really goes well with the green iPhone color. So far, so good. Love picking up the phone with the Rhinoshield bumper. It is not slippery, and I never feel that the phone will slip from my hand. I would definitely recommend the bumper, especially for people who don't want huge cases swaddling their whole phone.
