I have been curious, so when this unit became available, I thought I would try it. The unit looks and feels nice. If you have used an airbrush before, then you are probably okay. For new users, however, the instructions leave a lot of questions, such as: How thin does the liquid need to be when you put it into the airbrush? Do you need separate airbrushes for different types of products? (For example, once you use the airbrush for nail polish, is it then okay to use it for acrylic paints? Or should you really just stick with one airbrush per product type?) How do you use this product with foundation? Is this air sprayer food safe? (The product photos show this being used to decorate a cake.) If you decide to use this airbrush with makeup (or food products), I do suggest that is all you use it for. Tips for using this airbrush: There is a risk of spattering, so when you begin painting, have some paper towels or paper nearby that you can spray first. The spatters can go on the extra paper towels instead of on the item you want to paint. When you use the cord, the air compressor is going to move around. You can use a stretchy ponytail holder around the canister to attach it to something heavier so that the canister will stay put. ... show more

Hello all, I bought this item as a gift for a family member who is getting into molded model painting as he mentioned that he needed an airbrush for detailing his figures. He knows I am a Vine voice so he sent me a review but to the effect of whether or not this is a giftable item, here are my thoughts. I would say yes, I think it was an honest and good choice as a gift for someone. He immediately opened the item, and he even offered up an unboxing review. Regardless, he immediately started looking up information on, how to clean the device, what type of paints he needed, and how to dilute them. ---Apparently there isn't much information in the box on this subject, which I found odd, but he said it wasn't "to big of a deal" considering the amount of information widely available on the internet. However, the instruction manual did offer up plenty of information on how to connect and use the device and how to maintain it. He seemed pleased, even extremely satisfied with the value of the "full-kit" style of presentation. He said he got everything he needed (minus the paints) and that customers would get more than they pay for with this set. Like I was saying though, as a gift I think this is a highly giftable item and I think that whoever you get it for.. friend, associate, artist, hobbyist, aesthetician... they all should be happy with this airbrush system as a gift. Personally I think this is a great idea to gift to newcomers or experienced airbrush enthusiasts. The kit comes with everything you need to get going and with the exception of buying paint and something to paint you basically get everything you need to make it all work together. **Keep in mind that you might have to do some research on paint types, dilution ratios, and pressure values which aren't available in the instructions for this device. So, if you or whoever you are gifting it to wont have access to the internet, or if he or she wont feel comfortable with having to do their own research in order to use this device, I wouldn't suggest buying or gifting it.
