  • Needed for BMX
My son's BMX bike was having chain tension issues. We got these and have had no issues since. I didn't completely understand when I bought that this is a complete set for one bike. So if you have two or more bikes you need to buy another set for that bike. Color is true to picture and looks slick.

  • Works for SS MTB
The media could not be loaded. Recently got a Surly Pugsley and decided to set it up Single Speed. I liked the simplicity of this tensioner. The pugsley has long horizontal dropouts and it fits perfectly. One 3 mile test ride so far (single track, lots of climbs) and the chain held up well!

  • Instantly broke!
The cir clip broke which I have this chain set at 1/2” tension so it’s not like “oh this guys over tightening it. No no, I’m setting this at half inch at the tightest point on the chain and the cir clip popped off and deformed! Super soft thin cheap metal for the main part that holds all the tension lol. This is the only No name brand in my kids bike I’m building. And this is why name brand like Box, SE, etc. are far superior and cost more for a reason. Lesson learned. These fly by night companies are not putting in enough into testing and materials. Their biggest concern is profit margin. At least feels that way. ... show more

  • Got these today
I hope they're strong enough to what I have planned for them. I have a two-stroke motorized bike. Which I have trouble tensioning the chain off of the motor and getting it set right. So I was looking at these and I thought maybe they'd work. When I got them they seem very light aluminum are some sort of metal the nut and Bolt seem light I think they're 8 mm and the part that pushes onto the frame doesn't look sturdy enough but I won't know till I put them on the bike and try them out. And with all the vibration for my motor I'm wondering if they will loosen up during the rides. So I guess I'll have to put Loctite in there I'll let you know what happens ... show more

  • Easy to install and look fantastic!
These chain tensioners look really nice.. and they feel pretty tough. The manufacturing quality looks really good as well. I have a single speed 29er mountain bike that has horizontal dropouts and figured these would look great and work for keeping the wheel from sliding forward on heavy pedal strokes. I put them on only to find that my dropouts are a little too beefy toward the front for these to sit flat using the axle hold closest to the adjusting screw. The front end of the tensioner sits at a bit of an angle because of how thick my dropout is where the seat stays & chain stays are welded in. I tried moving the tensioner to the forward axle hole, but then the adjusting screw wasn't long enough for the wedge piece to tighten up against the back of my dropout slot. I ended up just grinding the front inside edge of the tensioners off at an angle just slightly enough to let them sit flat while using the rear axle holes. I don't feel like it will affect the strength of the tensioners at all based on where it is, and which axle hole I'm using.. and it still looks nice and clean on the outside. So overall, I'm super happy with these. They actually look kinda fancy on my bike. ... show more

  • Works perfect
I had no problems at all and putting this on my bike and tightening the chain up. In the past I've always had problems of trying to get my chain tight enough to where it doesn't slip. I had no problems in installing this onto my bike. I give this five stars and two thumbs up. If anything should happen in the future I will update my review. ... show more

  • Works great.
These work, I expect them to not stay but so far they have been doing exactly what they should.
