    • Great budget coilover for daily driver
Size: 2006-2015 Miata NC
Chose the Rev9 Hyper Street One primarily due to price and product reviews found on other sites. Shipping was quick and packaging was great. Quality of product looks very good and all four coilovers fit perfect on my 18 year old NC1. Installation on a 2006 Mazda Miata was straightforward for me referring to Youtube videos from Miata Channel and Flywheel Films. My NC1 has an OEM shock tower brace which needed to be drilled out to allow room and access to the front coilovers adjustment damper wheel. MX-5 Miata Forum proved to helpful. The coilovers were shipped with springs fully compressed so spring preload needed to be set during installation. The Rev9 instructions are helpful how to set preload and height adjustments. An inexpensive digital caliper was very useful for setting preload and the many height adjustments I made during the first few weeks. After testing different height adjustments, I ended up with the car's height about 1 inch lower than stock all around. The coilovers are easy to adjust and can lower the car much more but if set too low then the Miata catalytic converter and manual transmission scrapes when driving over speedbumps. There are 16 damper settings on the Hyper One coilover. I ended up going with the softest setting all around for my daily driving which I find is still much firmer than the old OEM shocks. The Hyper Street One does not have a camber adjust so I took the car for a 4 wheel alignment after a few hundred miles. After 4 months of daily driving on North Texas roads, I find my NC1 much more fun and stable to drive than with the OEM setup, the car is flatter when cornering, and I think the lowered car just looks better. ... show more
