We bought 2 $100 paddle boards that were on special and those are nice as first timers. We recently bought this after reading reviews and can say it is a definite step up. While still considered on the "beginner" side, it is a noticeable better quality than out "cheap" boards. It is also much more stable when standing up on it. The seat is nice as it can be used as a kayak or paddleboard. The seat inflates with the same pump to 7-10 PSI. It comes with many nice features like a strap for carrying the board and oars for both paddleboard and kayak. It is more expensive than our other SUPs but you can tell the quality difference between them. I won't be surprised when out $100 SUPs die in a summer or 2, but I would expect this one to last a long time. It comes with a dual action pump as opposed to a single, which helps in the inflation time.

Well made and thoughtfully designed product. All parts fit inside sturdy carry bag, each part came individually packed in its own protective bag, some of which I will keep for parts storage. Sewing on the bag, straps and carry handles was sturdy, carry handles well placed. SUP itself is very sturdy and stiff after inflation @ 10 psi, range is 10-15. All seams tight, centered and heavy duty. Accessory patches are well placed and look sturdy. Accessories that came with the SUP include pump, waterproof phone case, convertable paddle, leash, 3 fins, seat and back. Other reviews mention missing leash, but it has on that is pretty good, very sturdy and double fold velcro to prevent leash from coming loose if you fell in the water. Pump has a large diameter and pumps on up and down stroke, making inflation pretty quick. I have a very good battery powered air pump for my car, just ordered adaptor to use with the SUP for $6. The included seat is quite comfortable and the back support is excellent, way better than the seats on my other kayaks ( I have 5) Overall, the board is much lighter than my other kayaks, which were getting to be a hassle to transport and for my wifew tolift by herself. Paddle is convertible from kayaking to stand up, with a length adjustment that is easy and positive. Its quite sturdy, I'm not clear why other comments mention it is flimsy. Fins snap positively in the mounts, slide in clip prevents their coming out accidentally. I had no trouble removing or putting on. I'm impressed by the quality and thoroughness of the product design and marvel at their being able to provide this at this price point.

The Weekender Plus hit a lot of check boxes for me: the sweet spot in pricing, quality, and extra features. Set up and inflating was very intuitive - we bought a pair of them and it only took my wife and 10 minutes to get two fully ready to go. The kayak seat is so comfortable! The modular paddle is also really nice. The seat option really makes for a “soft transition” if, like us, you are new to stand up paddle boards. I liked that we could get out on the water, but not have to fully commit to only standing or kneeling. The boards were incredibly stable on the water (I’m 230lbs) and the included fins allow it to track really well! We predominantly used it in its kayak configuration for our maiden voyage, and they were a joy to paddle around in. Thanks Retrospec!!

I love this paddleboard. It's slightly wider (hence the plus). I use it more like a kayak. The seat is very comfortable. It sits above the board by a few inches so you can lean forward easily. If you like getting out on the water and being comfortable, then you should get this board. Also very high quality with the material and the backpack.

I was comparing this board to one twice it’s Price.— I’m so glad I went with this one.! we ended up buying two because we were so pleased with it. This board was stable enough that I had not one but two dogs on it! My 45 pound labrador as well as my 20 pound terrier. I absolutely love the inflatable seat.— we were paddling on 40° water and being able to sit down and paddle it like a kayak was amazing. The tracking is true they pack back up into the backpacks easily.. we did purchase a compressor so I cannot tell you about the hand pump. Took less than 10 minutes to inflate. We were on a popular SUP spot and I had several people ask about our boards. They seem incredibly well-made and durable.. I am 135 pounds and my husband is 185 pounds.. we are both delighted with our new boards!

Dear Retrospec, I love my weekender+ but have one gripe keeping me from five stars… please make optional stiff RUBBER fins. One of my small side fins broke the first time ai hit a rock in a small class I rapid. the nylon plastic doesn’t have enough give. Stiff rubber would be far more durable. Mahalo

I don't usually write reviews, but I felt I had to for this. First, for perspective, I bought a Bote Aerowolf board a couple of years ago; a bare-bones inflatable SUP with no accessories; it didn't even have additional D-rings to attach a seat or stow extra gear. That said, with the Bote name on it, it was relatively very expensive. The Retrospec Weekender Plus was basically 1/4 the price of my Bote and has SO MANY premium features and accessories. They genuinely thought of all the things I have been wishing for in a SUP. 1: inflatable elevated seat and foot rest bar create a significant comfort improvement if you want to convert to a kayak style set-up. The seat itself has a great back rest as well that feels really comfortable and sturdy for me (5'10", 180 lbs). 2. The multiple fins help with tracking. The fins seemed small to me at first, but after getting it out on the water, this board tracks better than my Bote. 3. multiple tie-down points, webbing loops, front & back bungees, zipper pouch on the seat back, elastic strap on front of seat for a water bottle! Endless options to stow & secure your gear! 4. Kayak paddle conversion included! This is just such a nice inclusion that doesn't require you to have to go buy a kayak paddle separately. 5. Stability is honestly just as good if not a bit better than my Bote Aerowolf. It seems slightly more rigid on the water with less flex front to back. The lake I SUP on doesn't have a ton of chop, so this might be a factor of the conditions I have used either board on at the time. Either way, it feels really good on the water. 6. Non-slip deck is actually really comfortable while standing. I don't notice any loss of traction while wet, and it doesn't make my feet sore standing for a couple of hours. Ok, so I am lazy and have an electric air pump for my SUP. I can't honestly attest to the effectiveness/quality of the included pump.... having used a hand pump before to inflate SUPs, I will never use a hand pump again. I recommend you follow my lead. Overall, I just love this SUP. Retrospec did all the things right with this one, and I hope their company continues putting out great products. I will almost definitely buy from them again.... on an unrelated note, does anyone want to buy a used Bote Aerowolf?

Love this paddleboard! We use an electric pump to inflate it most of the way, then finish with the hand pump. It is sturdy and held up to two teenage girls trying to knock each other off. We have not tried it as a kayak yet, but love that as an option.
