  • Comparable to all the others
Color: Navy
This is very similar to all the other small watercraft anchor offerings on Amazon. The anchor is the exact same as another one that I had previously purchased. Well painted and opens and locks close with ease. The carabiner latch is also the exact same. I prefer the rope on this product compared to my other anchor which is more of a rough/scratchy type of rope. This one is soft and less abrasive if it was to rub against anything. I went for the for the navy anchor/yellow rope just so it's easier to see the rope in the water. The buoy is a hard, hollow plastic whereas my other anchor is a more of a solid foam type of material. I don't really have a preference between the two buoys. The bag has a little bit of padding. There is no mention in the user manual about how to attach the rope with a zip tie. This could potentially save you from losing the anchor if it gets caught on something. Check out some other product listings to see what I mean. There are some other anchors out there have have a D-ring attached to the bottom of the anchor which is a nice touch but they cost a little bit more and are not truly necessary, more of a convenience. This will get the job done. This item was shipped in the manufacturer's packaging (no shipping box) so if you are looking to give this as a gift I would recommend buying from a different supplier that doesn't just slap a shipping label on the manufacturer's box and send it out the door. ... show more

  • solidly made
Color: Seagrass
When I got this I was nicely surprised to see that the company was based in Perris, CA, not too far from me. And where there's a big freshwater lake fishing scene. I'm higher in altitude, near a different lake, but I appreciate their direct connection. I kayak regularly on the lake and while I don't fish too often (yet) I love going out on the lake, finding a nice corner, and sitting a spell, reading or writing or just staring about, letting my thoughts wander. Which is hard to do if you're floating here and there or if I have to beach the boat and hope no one finds the beach I'm on. Been looking at anchors for a while for the kayak and this one is perfect for me. Very solid construction. The anchor itself, including the latch to keep it open or closed, is all metal. Everything is pre-tied so you can get this and use it right away. Very straightforward overall, with a heavy duty clip on one end and the anchor on the other. Very easy to snap to the side of my kayak and use when I need it. The anchor is small enough to slip between my legs if need be, but I've liked stowing it in my deck webbing behind me for simple enough access (and I can keep it clipped on). Very pleased. Will be getting a couple more of these for my kayak owning family members. ... show more

  • Long rope seems eavier then 4lbs
Color: Clownfish
It is a nice anchor and has a nice long nylon type cord, I would use this for a fishing boat or small boat nothing huge. As a back up or for fishing this is perfect, you can even use it as a weapon when the zombies come, multi use this thing is

  • Great design.
Color: Seagrass
This is a great little anchor. I've never seen one this compact, collapsible, and well-designed. I'm no anchor expert, but I've never seen one like this. I've seen plenty of your basic inland lake anchors, probably around 10 lbs, but this little thing is going to be spectacular for kayaking, or even small fishing boat situations. I'm very much looking forward to using it. It comes with a nice storage bag with a cinch top and the bag itself is actually padded so if you dropped it or it bounces around while traveling, nothing will get damaged. The rope is good and sturdy, as well as the snap hook and buoy. Definitely a well thought-out little package, and 3 1/2 lbs will be perfect for small craft situations. Definitely give it 5 stars. I hope this has been helpful. ... show more

  • Sturdy little anchor
Color: Seagrass
This appears to be a sturdy anchor. It is painted metal, and quite heavy (for a small anchor). The paint is a little uneven in places (scratched), but this should not be a big issue. The rope looks sturdy, and there is a buoy attached. There is also a nice, sturdy carabiner to attach it to the boat. Our kayaks, while not inflatable, are light, so it should work perfectly! There is still spotty ice on the lakes, so no water sports for a bit, but hubby will put it to use this summer. It will be a nice way to hold in one place for pictures or to hold the kayak while retrieving items from the shore/car. ... show more

  • Nice kayak anchor
Color: Seagrass
We love to paddle out into the middle of a lake, hook our kayaks together, and just chill with some music and a drink, but generally find ourselves drifting so the experience is less relaxing. Problem solved with this awesome little anchor from Retrospec. I was immediately impressed by the weight compared to the size of this anchor, and it has a nice coat of paint that looks like will take a lot to chip off. Includes long nylon rope with buoy and quality carabiner for attaching to your boat. Folds up nicely into it's streamlined carry case and takes up hardly any room in an already cramped kayak. 30 bucks at the time of this review seems like a great price for an anchor of this quality. Recommended. ... show more

  • Exactly what you're looking for in an anchor if it's the weight you need.
Color: Black
This is a great option for canoes, kayaks, and other small boats. I love the robust carry bag to keep loose rope from getting underfoot. The anchor seems to be rugged and should last well. And having the float on the rope is a great convenience and safety feature. For the depths you're likely to be anchoring small craft, 26 feet of rope seems fairly generous. All told, this anchor kit was exactly what I needed for my canoe. ... show more

  • Perfect for lake living!
Color: Clownfish
A super easy way to stay put on a lake. Very easy to attach to my kayak and it does a phenomenal job of keeping my kayak weighted down. Comes in a carrying case that makes storage perfect. The anchor is easy to clean and the price was right! Perfect addition for lake living with a kayak.
