Our ultralight Dakota helmet also comes with 2 sets of inner pads that vary in thickness for you to customize your fit and optimize your comfort. The helmet was delivered faster than the expected timeframe. The helmet itself is a very nice matte finish, lightweight and comfortable. It has adjustable straps and extra padding if needed. Being in Florida, it is warm and humid but the help did not trap heat. This is a sturdy bike helmet with an attractive retro look. The helmet feels solid—I feel safe wearing it. It’s heavier than the newer-style aerodynamic helmets I’ve worn—this is a plus for me, because I bike for commuting and errands, not racing. There is just enough venting to keep my head cool on a hot day. The straps are easily adjustable. My only issue is that the sizing is off. The Medium is rated for up to 59 cm. My head measures 57.5 cm, and I found this helmet to be just a little too tight, to the point of becoming uncomfortable during longer rides, or just putting it on and taking it off. I did not want to size up, as I knew a large would be too big. So I used a sharp pocketknife to gradually trim a thin layer of foam off in a few hot spots where it felt especially tight.
