I wouldn’t put this on my kids head while riding a bike with training wheels. Helmet is still large even when the smallest size is ordered. Its got dollar store quality and thats being generous. Its flimsy and extremely flexible. Not sure how its abs. Ive seen bicycle helmets with better quality with a better price tag. I Showed my neighbor who works for the state the helmet and he was extremely surprised it was dot approved. Appearance is far from what is advertised. Provides zero protection. ... show more

I'm going to be generous here and give the helmet & seller 3 stars. The helmet it self isn't bad quality for an inexpensive helmet. However, the fit is not true to size. It runs big and I'm not willing to wait another week for a smaller replacement.Along with the risk of that one not fitting also.

I have an intermediate oval shaped head and measure 23.25 inch which is between L & XL sizes on the chart. I ordered the L size. L is the correct size for other brands of this shape/style. M is the correct size here. For comparison, I wear XXL in HJC, Daytona, etc but the M is best fit with this one. The rivets are a bright chrome/shiny color rather than black. While I dislike the stainless rivets(personal preference), they are still good and can be painted over. The DoT sticker is not an add on but attached like the more popular brands. The liner is hook/loop in and removable, so easy to wash and keep the helmet fresh. The ratchet strap is a bit more fiddly than others, but is still ok. Strap is extra long. If you have a short head, you can remove the strap cover to tighten the strap, but it is still long at its shortest setting with the strap cover on. Peak is like others in that it is not noticeable but provides minimal shade by tilting head down if headed into the sun. Has a good look and fit. No pressure points so feels good. I purchased the more popular one here on Amazon previously and this one was a few $$ more but worth it. While sizing is a very personal thing, after my experience and reading the other reviews, I'd recommend the chart size if you wear a thick scarf or hat under your helmet, otherwise go with the chart and then select the next size down. Update: Added photos. The hook/loop dots on the helmet are small and can not be felt through the liner. 3 of the photos show the liner 1-as it arrives 2-slightly pulled away from the rear 3-fully removed Reinstalling the liner after removal is a bit fiddly. The liner sticks to the hook/loop dots so it can easily be moved around and be out of place. Make sure the size label is on the left and the edges match the EPS liner when re-installing and it will be just right. Also the material of the removable liner very smooth & soft making it feel very comfy. ... show more
