My wife ordered this net for our fishing trips we enjoy taking to the coast. It is made well and seems like it should last a long time if taken care of. It is long, like over 7 ft overall, and it is pretty wide as well. The handle extends and the net folds open locking in the open position. You can really reach out and get those fish that you can't get right up to the boat or pier. The handle isn't designed to pick up the fish while holding the handle at the very end obviously but if you use it like it is supposed to be use it should help you land more fish. It's pretty crazy the design of it and how it folds up to fit in the handy carry bag. ... show more

This fishing net is HUGE! This is a very long handled fishing net. This net totally folds up, and fits nicely into a black case that comes along with it! This would be great for large bodied fishing. Deploys quickly, and then also folds away easily. Provides plenty of long reach with a larger-than-expected net basket. The net material is nicely rubberized to repel hook snags. I use this net when fly fishing from the bank to give me some extra reach while keeping my feet dry. The plastic connectors on the telescoping handle are the only possible Achilles heel in this net, but as long as you don’t over stress the net with too much weight, it should give you many of seasons of enjoyable use. Note: I opted to replace the strategically-placed tiny zip tie at the base of the net with a few inches of thin elastic shock cord which will accomplish the same function without pulling so hard on the net bag fabric. ... show more

I mistook this as a net I could use in my koi pond and sadly I realize it's not what I need at all. I needed something to skim leaves off the top and bottom and this is way too large and not the correct structure for doing so. Not the fault of the product. I recently purchased the Retractable Long Landing Net and have been impressed with its versatility and durability. The extending handle is sturdy and allows me to easily reach my catch from a distance. The net itself is also well-made and has a deep pocket that can accommodate even large fish. While the lock mechanism for the net could be a bit stronger, I've found that the net performs well as long as I'm careful not to lift fish straight up.
