    • Works perfectly for fully charging Seiko Kinetic watches

I have a Seiko Kinetic watch I wear a lot and am able to keep it running well but I wanted to add other watches more often into my rotation so wanted a way to keep the Kinetic running when wearing it less often. This winder seemed to be the answer and is extremely inexpensive so I decided to give it a try. This works great. While the assembly was not the best (installing the bearings gave me a feeling I could have easily broken it when putting it together) it works properly and is very easy to use. I like the swing speed choices and the ease at which I can select the winding time up to 12 hours. I was able to fully charge the watch in one day and even decided to let it go another two days to ensure it was charged fully. I then let the watch sit on my desk until it ran down completely and it ran for 11 months which is way longer than the 6 months Seiko says it should. So the winder worked and worked well. One warning - I got the version with the long swing arm and that does not work well with a much heavier watch like an Omega Planet Ocean chronograph as the winder does not have a heavy enough base to keep it from tipping over from the watch weight. So, if you have a very heavy watch, you may want the version with the shorter swing arm to keep it from swinging itself over. ... show more

    • Works great after careful assembly

Great little device, really quite fun and functional. However, know the parts are plastic (easily broken) and require careful assembly using enclosed instructions. I recommend using a little vaseline or whatever to aid in assemling tight fitting plastic parts. You could also warm the plastic in hot water but this tends to cause some expansion--not sure it would benefit some parts. As long as great care is taken with assembly it is not particularly complicated. It goes together quickly once started but you may have to ponder the illustrations a bit before jumping right in. Otherwise, great bargain for what is essentially a perpetually winding/swinging sort of functional novelty work of miniature tech art. It makes very little noise but there is a faint or muffled clock-like tick each time the pendulum swings verticle, where the magnet passes just over the electrified base. Nothing that would prevent me from sleeping even located on a bedside table...and I'm a light sleeper. But I also normally wear earplugs which eliminate the sound completely for me. I say, buy with confidence if your like me with enough patience to assemble carefully. Very well designed though naturally somewhat fragile given mostly plastic parts. It worked fine for 6 months and then it just quit. It won't turn on, it won't do anything. There has has to be a warranty , And yes I want it replaced or my money back. Stop selling junk that has no quality and doesn't last.

    • It works and its cheap but there's room for improvement

Pros: It's cheap and does what I want which is charge a Kinetic Seiko movement. The noise from the oscillation is about the same a mechanic clock ticking away. (even quieter than some grandfather clocks). The all black aesthetic make it easy to match my desk decor. Cons: It only works as a timer, there's no way (at least as far as I know) to disable the timer and just have it operate on a simple on / off motion. It also only works a second time by unplugging it and plugging it back in. The timer setting defaults to a short time and is tedious if you want it to run for more than a few hours. Combined together, it does get annoying. Overall, I still give it 4/5 stars simply because its so cheap. But I wouldn't mine paying $5 more if they offered an upgraded model that has an "always on" option or has a easier/faster interface to adjust the timer. ***I purchased at $15 in 2026. *** ... show more

    • Inexpensive but a couple of drawbacks

I liked the concept. Turn a little magnetically driven perpetual motion machine like you see in novelty shops into a watch wider. Assembly was easy though you really had to pay sharp attention to the diagrams and pictures. Worked fine with the 5V Amazon AC adapter that I had on hand. Put the watch on it and off it went. Stability was fine and overall looks and feels like a sturdy little device. The downside was that I did not find mine to be all that quiet. Without power it swings silently. But once under power it does have a very noticeable tic-tok sound like that of an old style pendulum clock. Some may find the sound pleasantly rhythmic. I found it quite annoying. Also annoying was the meager 30” power cable. If the cable had been an off the shelf USB on both ends cable one could simply substitute for a longer one. But it has USB only on one end and a power plug on the other. Unless you have a USB extension cable on hand, you are a little limited as to where you can locate it to do its watch winding. ... show more

I read lot's of negative reviews about this winder, it is not your traditional box winder, costing 5 times more. Had one of them before, motor died after few months of infrequent use. Total waist of money. This one has no motor to go bad, just a simple magnetic force, powered from any USB adapter. It works perfectly. It can be even programmed for specific length of winging, 1 to 12 hrs. Easy to assemble, effective and under $18.00 It is all made out of plastic, true, but to hold and swing one watch, it is more than adequate, not to mention a good conversation piece.
