Description

Pair with the other two way radio by pressing the side key 1 and turn on the radio handily. Set the remote or local alarm through the CPS and long press the side key 1 to activate for safety. When cutting off power suddenly at night, the flashlight is a helper for working and finding things. The VOX function makes your hands free to pay more attention to your work at hand. The 0-9 level is optional and the default level is 4. When you are busy, long press the side key 2 to turn on the VOX function. Talk directly towards the microphone without holding the walkie talkie and pressing the PTT key all the time. It increases work efficiency to some degree. Equipped with a standard Type-C charging port and desktop charging base, rechargeable walkie talkie can be charged conveniently and flexibly. First let me start by telling you as of this date, I have purchased a total of 60 of the H-777 radios and have had NO, that’s “0” bad radios, batteries or chargers upon delivery. In fact after using these radios (most of them) for over 4 months, I have had absolutely no problems or issues arise. They have proven to be a very good quality, very reliable and MOST AFFORDABLE solution to the alternative. These radios are serving in just about every capacity you can think of, from maintenance, grounds keeping, sanitation, transportation and miscellaneous staff, all the way to security, safety, Fire/EMS and facility operations. We cover over 35acres and while a large portion of the radios see daily use, we have additional radios that are placed in service on an “as needed” basis during out special events. The only performance issue we experienced was during our initial testing period of the first ten radios I ordered. The stock antenna that comes on the radios only allowed us to achieve about 3/10’s of a mile in distance from radio to radio. We opted to replace them with the Retevis RHD-701 Walkie Talkie Antenna and we’re very pleased with the end result. We increased our range to just under 1 mile in an urban area using one radio inside a single story, concrete block, asphalt shingled roof building and the other radio standing from ground level in a residential neighborhood. The antennas were well worth the small additional cost. Now, keep in mind the belt clips aren’t the strongest, some of the accessories aren’t of the highest quality and the radios, while quite durable, all have there weaknesses and while Retevis appears to be making huge strides to improve there products (and reached success in many of the areas with certain products), still have a ways to go. But people, also be REALISTIC in what you’re getting for the price. Come on now, you’re paying on average just over $11 US per radio which includes the radio, antenna, rechargeable battery, battery charger, belt clip and carry strap for ..........”$11 US a radio” ...... If you can’t accept that at this price, these radios will have their limitations, and as with ANY product you buy, you weigh the good with the bad versus the ever increasing demands of smaller and smaller budgets to work with, then you’re the wrong person to be making such a purchase to begin with. For the money you can’t go wrong and there’s no way to beat such an affordable price for what you’re getting. Add to this the EXCEPTIONAL, OUTSTANDING AND pleasant customer service, (something that all businesses could take a lesson from this company on providing at such a high standard) and you end up with a win win win. I was tasked with upgrading our old vhf system and equipment and was dreading the daunting task of trying to figure out how to achieve purchasing enough quality resources needed with the almost nonexistent budget and Retevis answered the need in all areas. I’m a true fan, even though they still have room for improvement in certain areas, am confident they will reach these goals. NOTE, these are my personal opinions, I have not been paid or compensated in any way from any outside influence. My back ground is over 30 in the 911 Communications and over 35 years in the Fire/EMS field operations, over 22 years in the Security Industry. I am not a qualified, certified radio technician nor do I hold any degrees in the radio communications field. These are awesome affordable programmable radios. I needed these for my work crew in a lumber yard. We have been using the midland radios for years and needing to replace them at a rate of about 2 per month for various reasons. These are much more clear, and easier to find a channel that has little to no interference. The size is just about perfect but the antenna is a bit awkward and soft (you can buy aftermarket smaller ridged antennas) comes with 1 programming cable and 1 small disc that took forever to find because nothing said that these would be found inside 1 of the 20 individually packaged radios. We were not planning to use all 20 at once because we need backups for when we inevitably run 1 over with our forklifts. Once I found the programming accessories I had to figure out how to use them because there is no instructions to go along with them. I think I am very tech savvy and I had to look up on YouTube how to program them. The software has a help option that I could not get to work at all. we were originally going to just leave the radios in the default mode but we ran into a few problems, the channel knob is very easy to turn and the way we use the radio we would accidently turn to another channel and not here the voice tell us we had done so. We only needed to use 1 channel so I programmed all 16 channels to be the same. Which isn’t as easy as I would like because the program won’t default to change the frequency to 1 station. It wants to step the channels equally apart, so I had to set each channel 1 at a time. Also: the flashlight is 100% useless, the default voice is very annoying, 2 of the 20 radios were not programmed at all (they turned on but nothing happened until I programmed them), I wish there was a report chirp or something after the call ends, I wish there was a ring out function, I wish the radio chargers were a little better built because the charging light doesn’t come on sometimes and the radios don’t stay in the base if you try to store them in a vehicle. Bottom line these are great radios for very little money with minor flaws that can mostly be overlooked for the clarity and range ... show more

Just got my second set of 20 unboxed. Bought 20 about a year ago for coordinating and safety at scouting events. Had old Cobra and Midland radios for years that were falling apart. The first set of 20 were so well received, we got a second set this year and will be retiring all the old ones. The price is great, less than $12/radio. The simplicity of use is my biggest plus. With the earlier radios, people who don't use them every day, were constantly pushing the front buttons, changing station, getting into privacy mode, finding some other odd mode they couldn't get out of. These are super easy, on/off volume and station selector, which audibly tells you what channel you are on, are pretty much it, that a user can mess up. For the few issues/questions I've had, customer support (Angela) has been phenomenal, not just for these radios, but other Retevis models I have purchased for myself. Replacement parts and accessories seem to be readily available. We have purchased extra batteries and the charge cradles can charge the batteries when not on a radio, so you can always have a few fresh ones handy. The only caveat I have is that they do not come set up to work on free FRS/GMRS frequencies. They do all work together out of the box, but not with other radios other folks might bring with them. They are relatively easy to reprogram though, and the 20 pack comes with the required cable and software. Once you get the channels all set up in the software, you can save that set for future use, and it takes less than 30 seconds per radio to reprogram them. There is another open source piece of software called CHIRP that you can find on the web and supports these radios (and many others) that may provide a little more flexibility than Retevis's application, for those that want it. In any case, you will want to reprogram the radios to stay kosher, and not be on frequencies you shouldn't be on without even realizing it. ... show more

Great price on the set. Bought for business use and my employees can be rough on things so we bought the extended warranty. Less than a year later and we have 8 of the original 20 purchased working. Beware of the extended warranty. They don't cover the things that will go wrong with this item. Drop them once or twice and they are going to drive you nuts. The battery latch will no longer hold securely and the unit will power on and off with every step you take. Extended warranty does not cover this. They also don't cover the clips when they break or the antenna. Unfortunately for us, these are the 3 things we have had the most issues with. As far as range, they work very well in our 110,000 sqf facility. They do tend to pick up some wierd interference once and awhile, but a quick channel change and you're good to go. ... show more

    • Perfect for any outdoor adventure

Do you have lots of friends and like to be outdoors? Great! My friends and I go snowboarding and most of the time the reception on our phones on the mountain is non-existent. In theory it's easy to tell everyone to meet up for lunch at noon but sometimes someone wants to go for another run or maybe they're at another lodge on the other side of the mountain, well, see you at the car at the end of the day. BUT with these bad boys, you can simply tell everyone that you'll meet them elsewhere...problem solved. No one has to wait around. I can't tell you the range on these but while we're at the ski resort, we didn't have trouble. Definitely depends on the terrain. As for the build, these feel pretty solid. It's hard plastic and it doesn't feel like a toy. Each unit comes with a dock to charge, a battery, antenna, a optional clip, wrist strap and some instructions if you want to send alert signal, use the built in light, etc. Assemble it and you're ready to go...some units even came pre-charged. I had 9 other friends who took 2 radios each so it all works out. Will definitely take this camping and hiking too. Very inexpensive...best deal I could find out there. ... show more

I work at farm and we've used this brand for years. I ordered more in in the fall to replace some bad ones and have had several issues since. 1. They won't pair with the old walkie talkies so we had to buy two sets. 2. There is a huge delay once you press the button to talk. 3. When someone is speaking in to it, it doesn't come across on all of the radios. 4. The distance someone can be away to still be able to hear someone using the radio has gone down significantly. 5. There is crackling and static every time they are used. If I wouldn't have thrown away all the boxes once we set them up, I'd be returning them all and finding another brand to go with. ... show more

Great transaction! Our company needed to advance our communication through our facility, so we decided 2 way radios were the way to go. We didn't want to spend a fortune, invade the idea was a flop, so we went with these reasonably priced Retevis H-777 units. We ordered the 20 pack, and out of the 20 one was defective. The representative contacted me and sent a replacement for the defective one very quickly. The units are effective and help us coordinate tasks fluidly through our facility. The range is optimal, and even gets reception at the local sushi bar (which comes in handy when we need an employee who is picking up lunch). I would recommend these 2 way radios for business, and when we need to expand our fleet of radios, we will be buying more.
