Ordered the cheaper net and it is slightly on the flimsy side. 3 stars for this net but 5 stars to the company. I like how it folds up and doesn't take much space to store. Living in the country we get critters that fly into our house sometimes. This is going to work great to catch and release them outside. One thing is that the handle is short, wish it could extend to be longer Update. This company is awesome. Cheap product! My ten year old was scooping minos from our local lake in the open sandy beach area, no sea weed, and the handle snapped under the sheer weight if the water. He wasn't even close to the bottom of the lake or in the shoreline. About 3 feet out in open water at Eagle lake, in Michigan. Playing around toddlers, so he wasn't being rough at all. My son is only 80 lbs, and plays pretty gently with his things. It boggles my mind the metal just snapped! The handle is glued onto the net base, but the way that it came off it didn't slide off. It split the metal down the middle of the shaft about two inches as it came off, so I wasn't able to put it back on, or glue it together. And it doesn't extend. The length you see is the length you get. So I couldn't cut the handle shaft and glue it as a slightly shorter handle. Just no options but to return. I wish I still had the handle of the broken one to take a picture of, but my husband (father of five sons, and Pop Pop to one grandson) had the instinct to throw the sharp object away as we left the lake. Good idea Dad, but now I don't have proof of what it looked like as it broke. It was very jagged and dangerous. I bought two because I also have an 11 year old, but I'm returning both while I have the chance and sporting for the better brand that's twice as much. Total waste of time and money. Glad I was right there when it broke, because it was very sharp, and like I said, toddlers were around. ... show more

This is heavy duty and smells like metal oil maybe? The clasp got hooked on the net and could easily cause a tear. Wanted for crayfish but sent back. They are too big and clumsy

Do not waste your time or money. Not even for the cheap price it's listed at. This is junk. The net is held on by a zip tie, the pole is held together with a thin tiny peace of metal(which brokeas soon as it was opened), and it utilizes a rubber hose so the net can bend. It broke almost immediately upon opening. Did not even get to use. It smells really highly of gasoline. The locking mechanism is too stiff to be able to close it, little kids would definitely struggle either it. If I could give negative stars I would. ... show more
