Description
Res Care is a specially formulated liquid resin cleaner designed to rid the water softener of contaminants that salt alone cannot remove. Regular use of Res Care resin cleaner will restore the softener beads and control valve parts back to peak efficiency and maintain the life of the unit. For best results, use the Res Care Easy Feeder for continued defense of contaminant build-up. Protect your water softener by using Res Care on a regular basis. Simply pour 4 oz. of product down the brine well of the softener and let your system do the rest.

The actual cleaner seems to work well—it helps keep the softener running smoothly and seems to reduce buildup. I've noticed fewer issues with the water since I started using it regularly, and it's easy enough to pour into the tank if you're doing it manually. That said, the bottle design could be better. The cap tends to leak if you’re not careful, and there’s no built-in way to measure out the right amount. For something meant to be used consistently, a better dispenser or dosing cap would make this product more convenient.

Rescare Cleaner Does What is Advertised and Keeps Your Softener Like New

I have been using Rescare cleaner for a couple of years now. I have a clear jar that I marked with a half cup measurement to dump into the brine tank every two weeks. That is about how often our softener regenerates. You can tell when the softener regenerates when you take that morning shower and feel how the water does feel so much softer like the first day you installed your softener. I mainly started using this as our water supply from the county does have a bit of iron in it. I use a whole house filter with a string cartridge and you can see the dark orange color appear after about a year's use of water. Whatever the whole house filter doesn't get, Rescare cleaner will clean it from the resin and make it last longer. This product is hydrochloric acid so be really careful with it. I always have a damp paper towel in my hand to put under the glass jar before I pour the acid into it. You will get some drops that will want to slide down the container so after pouring just quickly catch that with the damp paper towel before putting it all away. There are other products out there and I had tried them but none even comes close to this one. I am ordering another gallon today, 7/11/2023. I find I use a gallon about every six or seven months. Get this, you will love it!

Good product to help refresh a hard water treatment system.

After watching a video on-line by Gary the Water Guy (an excellent source of information on your water treatment systems) I purchased this product. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to "refresh" a water softener and end up with water that no longer leaves a stain on my black stainless steel finish refrigerator. It's actually less about the fridge and more about having a way to see the results of using the right product to protect your plumbing, etc. Many of my plumbing / sink fixtures were getting calcium/hard water stains before using this product and Gary's advice.

Nine years in the home. Nine years with the water softener. Never used a product like this. Recently I noticed our water was getting hard again which told me our softener wasn’t working. We’ve always used Morton’s pellets and it just works. This time no amount of regenerations or ensuring there was no blockages or bridges or leaks did anything. My options were to replace the media (very messy), get a new unit (very expensive) or try this. And..it seems to have worked! Odd. I really never knew resin could get coated and be less effective. But dang…used the product, regenerated those and within a couple days after that hot water tank flushed the water was soft again. So..you can call me a believer.
