I received coconut chips instead of fiber, which for our reptile breeds is ok, but be aware when ordering you may get the incorrect type that may not be suitable for all pets. The chips I received works as described, comes in bricks that you can separate and when adding water they expand greatly. These can be used for reptile tanks or as mulch in garden areas. They absorb smell, and the reptile room smells fresh without any detectable odors. The chips are compostable which is a nice plus. The color looks nice in the tanks, and is a darker shade of brown than some other substrates. Please note if using in a garden - felines enjoy using this substrate as a littler box.

So happy with this product!! I mixed this with a bit of the coconut chip substrate I had left so that my corn snake could more easily burrow. She is such a happy girl and has already made a whole tunnel system. This comes very compacted but easily fluffs up with some moisture. I chose to let it dry out before using it for my corn as she does not need a damp substrate. I think the mix of chip and fiber is a great combination for corns who like to burrow.

I decided to try this in my snakes forty gallon terrarium and it's great!!! I barely used a quarter of the package and it was more than enough to fill the bottom a few inches thick and pile up around the den. It's super fine and very soft so you won't have any issues with pets getting inadvertently hurt by sharp pieces. It absorbs and holds water very well so keeping humidity in a tank will be no issue. Plenty left over for another six tank changes! The snake is very happy burrowing and moving it all around.

So far so good. Our reptile friends seem to like it and I have noticed that it does help alot with keeping the odor down. There is a lot more here than I was expecting, which is excellent. It is definitely a great deal.

Very fine grind of coco coir. Weighed in at slightly over 10 pounds. I'll be using it next spring for germinating seeds for my flower and vegetable gardens. The coco coir holds moisture extremely well and I've had great luck using it for my starts. This particular coco coir is a bit on the expensive side but would be a good buy for someone who only needs a small amount. Product information page states that 10 pounds should expand in to approx 18 gallons of material. In my experience a more realistic estimate would be 12-15 gallons.
