Worked like a champ. The kindle wasn't charging before without having to manipulate the connector. Since soldering in new connector it is charging great. Saved me a headache, the wife wasn't wanting to have to start over with a new kindle on all of her games...

    • Needs electronic soldering experience to install.
It's the right part perfect fit. Recommend only attempting if you have solder/rework experience with surface mount component pc board. High risk of fatal damage to board if you've never done this before.

    • Not an easy repair
This replacement is very intricate and difficult. However, I was able to complete it on both of my devices. They now charge and are on day 1 of the repair. The only thing that is different is that the four prongs that solder to the board are right next to a piece of black plastic, causing the plastic to melt down over the prongs, making it hard to tell if they were truly in contact.
