The clunky prop-rod is always in the way, but after removing the prop rod and installing a Hood Quicklift System the engine bay is free from obstructions. All Quicklift Systems utilize progressive-rate gas springs that will lift and hold your hood open. Simply start to lift the hood with one hand and it will rise unassisted in a smooth and controlled motion
- Bolt-in System: This Hood Quicklift System is designed and engineered to use existing mounting locations for our vehicle-specific mounting hardware. Simple hand tools only, no drilling or vehicle modifications required
- Quicklift Plus (All Black System): All installation hardware is designed to last as all metal is double-treated. Steel mounting-hardware is zinc plated, then black powder coated for both appearance and added corrosion protection. There is a 4 year warranty on all Quicklift Plus components
- Black Gas Springs: The gas springs used in this application each have a black e-coated steel body with black annealed extending rod. The end-fittings used are designed specifically for this application
- Progressive-Rate Valving Technology: All gas springs utilize progressive-rate valving technology. Designed into each gas spring is an end-of-stroke dampening which slows the rate of extension over the final inches of travel. This feature reduces stress on hood and mounting hardware

Well thought out but could be a pinch better.
I purchased hood lifts for my 2024 Tacoma and am extremely pleased with the product. The installation was straightforward—no drilling required, just a simple bolt-in process. The kit was thoughtfully packaged, and the instructions were clear, with color pictures for easy reference. Additionally, the instructions included a QR code linking to an installation video, which was well-produced and helpful. Overall, the setup process was smooth and well-executed. However, I encountered a small issue with the driver’s side mounting plate. On the passenger side, the mount plate aligns with the hood support, and when you tighten the bolt, it secures the plate firmly in place. The bottom of the passenger-side mount has a 90-degree curve that fits into a hole in the truck’s body, adding stability when tightening. The driver’s side, however, is slightly different. While the bottom of the driver-side plate rests securely against the truck body when tightened, the top part has no similar support. As a result, the upper section of the mount twists when the bolt is tightened. To resolve this, I used a small clamp with cardboard padding (to prevent scuffing the paint on the hood bracket) to hold it in place during installation. It wasn’t a major inconvenience, but I feel the design could be improved to provide better support for the upper section of the driver’s side mount. Once installed, the hood operates effortlessly—it truly feels like magic! One other minor critique: the stickers on the struts face inward. I wish they faced outward so the branding would be more visible. It seems like a missed opportunity to showcase the cool design. Despite these minor issues, I’m overall very happy with the product and would recommend it.

High quality and easy install
Why did you pick this product vs others?: There are cheaper options on the market, but probably not with this level of quality. The brackets are engineered perfectly to fit with existing mounting locations on the gen 4 Tacoma. One of the nice things with this product is the outstanding instructions that come with it. The instructions are very clear with awesome photographs that make installation a snap. Each part is stamped with the corresponding number in the instructions. Even though that wasn’t really necessary, it makes it full proof for the most novice installer.

Direct fit for 2025 Tacoma TDR OR (no hybrid). Easy install and they work as expected. You will need to slightly raise the hood to get the struts installed if doing the work while using the factory hood stay.

A must have for my 2025 Tacoma
Should be standard equipment on Tacomas. Installation is straightforward with excellent instructions and well marked parts. But the tight spaces for attaching the lower brackets was tough given my aging fingers. That is not the problem of the strut manufacturer just engine components in the way. The good news is that the placement of the lower brackets gives you total access to the engine compartment when the hood is raised. So the small issue of tight spacing for the brackets is insignificant. Great product.
