These are great boots. They have a Goodyear welt that allows the sole to be replace when needed, making it a very long lived shoe if the leather is oiled and treated well. The flat wedge model is great for standing for a period of time. SIZING: They run large. My shoe size usually is around 8.5 to 9. Running shoes are typically larger -- up to 9.5. I purchased this boot in an 8.5 and it's too large. I've got very wide feet, and could barely get these on, but after the break in, they are much too big for me. BREAK- IN: It took a while for the heels to break in enough to be comfortable. The leather is of good quality and stiff, so an extended break in isn't unusual. Part of the issue was most likely due to the shoe being too large. As a side note, I would suggest getting a longer shoestring as the ones that come with the shoes provide just enough length for the knot. Redwing shoes are really fantastic, and this shoe looks good and performs well. I've used them to survey a construction site as well as casually wear about town. Just make sure you size them correctly, have patience for the break in, and oil when needed, and they should stick around for many years. ... show more

Very nice boot. The only point is that the price is changing every hour. Unfortunately I bought it with $240, while two days later, before I receiving it, the price dropped to 224. So for anyone who wants to buy it, be aware of the price! :)

Great boots. Would recommend getting them fitted at a retailer if you can since sizing can be tricky with them having to be broken in. My next pair I might try going another 1/2 size down and maybe EE wide.

    • SOLID BUILD AND QUALITY BUT DISAPPOINTED...HAPPY WITH THOROGOODS
I had been salivating over these shoes for months scouring reviews and different sites, trying to decide which to purchase between these shoes, Red Wing Round Toes, Chippewas, and Thorogoods. After months of thought and research, I still couldn't decide so I bit the bullet and purchased both these and the Thorogood Heritage American Heritage 6" Moc Toe Boots. While these boots are made of quality material true to the Red Wing brand, they just did not deliver in terms of comfort, appearance, utility, ESPECIALLY AT THIS PRICE POINT. I ended up returning these and sticking with the Thorogoods which were just as well-made, more comfortable, AND cost-effective and have been completely satisfied. If you're a die-hard Red Wing fan, sure go with these (though you might be underwhelmed) whereas if you're like me, and value qualtiy craftsmanship, appearance, utility, and price, go with Thorogoods. ... show more
