I am a college student taking ceramics courses. I bought a kit of tools that included a metal rib and a wooden rib. The metal one was flexible but my prof would not allow its use as it becomes dangerously sharp. These silicone ribs were perfect for my needs and made for very smooth surfaces. I may have to buy them again because apparently my classmates liked them too. :)

Stiffer than mudd tools. Has a sharp edge, which is nice but may not last. Good for the time being and nice for the price.

These things are so thin, I don't think I'll be able to use them. They easily bend in half with slight pressure, definitely not something I can use for much shaping on the pottery wheel, and definitely not something I use use during clean up. NOT RECOMMENDED!!

Love these ribs. Especially the little one, Its flexible enough to smooth the inside bottoms extremely well. I would order multiples of just the little one if I could.
