  • They grind hardened blade steel just about as long as the more expensive belts I was using!
Size: 120 Grit
These can't be beat for the money! Belt life while working mild steel is good, but hardly a "test". Hardened, high carbon and high alloy tool steel and blade steel is the real test and these belts are running cool for about as long as the 3M 977 Cubitron Ceramic belts I have been using, for about $1.50 less per belt! I say "cool" because a sharp belt puts the energy into cutting, a worn belt increasingly applies it's energy as friction as it's ability to cut diminishes while the steel gets hot faster, so the length of time you can grind before needing to cool the steel is the most reliable way I know to judge when I should swap belts. [above 120 grit I would still switch to the 3M Trizact CF] ... show more

  • That's how You Make a Customer for Life!
Size: 24 Grit
Every once in a great while, a company goes out of its way to make things right! I posted about issues i had with the belts I received and two days later a box showed up at my door with replacement belts! Thank you Red Label Abrasives for being stand up and going the extra mile, without being asked! Original review "Out of six belts, four broke within 15 minutes of use, One on first spin up. The last two made it through several hours before breaking as well. The tape broke on each one. Luckily we wear full face shields and light gloves; I caught one across the forearm... no fun there. After asking through social media, I was told it could have been an old lot, or they had been subjected to excessive heat for a long period of time. I believe this might be a one time thing, with a bad batch of German made belts. They do cut well though just didn't last." ... show more

  • Great for roughing/ shaping work
Size: 60 Grit
I used this belt in making Nordic knife handles. If you want to remove a lot of handle material this is a good belt to use. I also used it on the metal tang to get the bolster to slide all the way down to the blade. It's much better than the red belts for use on steel. And it works well on materials like leather, birch bark, and hard tropical woods. You will have to switch to a finer grit for finishing work. ... show more

  • These belts hold up better than anything else I have used
Size: 24 Grit
I have and use these belts from 24-120 grit for serious weaponsmith grinding. This includes grinding stainless steel and hardened materials (HRC 50+) and very very large blades (5 foot or longer). These belts hold up better than anything else I have used.

  • these remove metal very well at the higher RPM's and leave a good consistent finish
Size: 120 Grit
If you want to get the most bang for your buck, you can't go wrong with these belts. For the knife maker, these remove metal very well at the higher RPM's and leave a good consistent finish. The life of the belt is also impressive, I will continue to purchase belts from these guys (Red Label Abrasives) because they put out a good product and customer service is stellar. ... show more

  • Don’t waste your money
Size: 36 Grit
Thought I would try these out but they suck! I should have purchased higher quality, more expensive belts that I know cut blades better. These are stiff and leave very deep inconsistent grooves. Slow cutting action taking three times longer!

  • They really work great.
Size: 60 Grit
I really like these belts. Compared to others I've tried these are by far the best belts for the cost. In fact I want to order some more just to have. But these last a good long while and I like having a good inventory on hand. ( because I never know how busy I'll be from day to day. So guys if your looking for some good belts try these ...you'll love am. ... show more

  • Great belts, and easy to get quick= happiness
Size: 50 Grit
These belts are awesome long lasting and durable. Used a lot of belts in my knife making days. Easy to get quick and just as good as the others if not better. Will keep buying these belts.
