  • Good quality
Great for a final step with the KO grinder. It came with white compound, but I’ve been using my green with it instead

  • Works perfectly for a shave your face edge
This takes the work out of edge maintenance. I’ve manually stropped for years. It’s just a maintenance thing that needs to be done. The reviews worried about burning up your motor are unfounded. I’ve ran the belt for close to an hour and the motor is not the least bit warm. I’m sure worksharp doesn’t want the cost involved in providing a leather belt. The cloth belts they do provide went in the trash as they are considerably shorter than the gritted belts. A cloth belt with the proper compound would do just as well because it’s just a carrier for the polishing compound. A little Vaseline worked in the belt will allow the polishing compound to be distributed more evenly. No special glycerin required. Worksharp should take note and throw the cloth belts in the trash where they belong. Or at least make them the correct length. Cloth belts are consumables. A leather belt will last a lifetime. If used properly. 100% positive rating for now. ... show more

  • Excellent product
Fantastic product, works perfect on the work sharp Ken Onion edition with blade grinder attachment. Definitely brings the edges to that "next level of sharp". Only negative I experienced was the seam where the belt comes together causes a little wobble when running but has not affected the performance, just looks a little funny. Highly recommend and will be purchasing again as well ... show more

  • Durable belt for Ken Onion Belt Grinder attachment
I have a couple of these guys now, and they're quite fantastic. The rough side of the leather is quite durable, so you don't have leather bits flaking off when you're utilizing it. It's a fair bit stiffer and thicker than other competing belts. This causes the motor to bog down a bit more when using these belts, but it's fine. I wouldn't suggest using any stropping belts running at anything higher than the low speed setting anyway. The polishing compound that comes with these belts is decent. It would be nice to know what grit it equates to though. I actually use diamond lapping pastes on these belts instead. It helps a bit with the harder to sharpen steels like REX-45, M390, S90V and the like. ... show more

  • Impossibly sharp edges at a cost(?)
I like it a whole lot. I get edges on my knives that you could perform surgery with, and absolutely zero burr. It’s gratifying to feel my blades catch on the individual grooves in my fingerprint. My only problem with it, and it is quite the conundrum, is that the manufacturer of the tool I’m using it on says it will burn out the motor and void the warranty. Their solution is a cloth belt, but that doesn’t quite hold the polishing compound like the leather does. The motor doesn’t get hot, or even particularly warm when I’d used it before the maker told me to stop. I haven’t decided whether or not I’ll disobey and risk the motor yet. This stropping belt is nicely built and works way better than the cloth ones that are available do. ... show more

  • Use this for the sharpest DAMN blades you have ever used
Okay so the instructions really missed something I think is very important, before you do anything, hold a bit of 400 grit or a bit finer against it while it's running (won't do much good if it ain't)then hold a bit of beeswax or glycerin saddle soap to the belt before you use the polishing compound, if you use more than one grit of the compound just use a lite grit sand paper to clean off the the old and then start all over,I'm a saddle maker and a very avid hunter and always cut my own meat, a good sharp knife is the most important tool to have and this belt and a little bit of experience will give you the sharpest edge you have ever used!!!!!! ... show more

  • Such a lie! Not 1”x18”. Bait & Switch. The reason is even more absurd!
Received this for my UPGRADED Ken onion sharpener, claimed it was the 1” x 18” leather strop. However, when received it was clearly…clearly the smaller original sharpener size of 3/4” x 12”. However, there was a card inside stating “belt is smaller than advertised size to allow for stretching.” LOL. There is NO way a 3/4”x12” belt will stretch into a 1”x18”, not even close to fitting the upgraded Ken Onion sharpener. This misleading fraud is just to sell useless product that won’t fit. Do NOT waste your money. They are just selling small sized belts since they don’t carry the correct larger size and try to pass it off by claiming “it stretches”. They ought to be band for selling on Amazon for clear fraud and bait and switch. ... show more
