I was disappointed with so many basic light sets, as many included what (to me) were non-Christmas-y colors like pink and purple. In particular, I was looking for a good solid dark red. These lights deliver well on the assortment of colors, for me, and they have a handy remote and a (somewhat limited) timer function (on/off for a 6-hour timer option). One note: there was no manual included so I had to look at the Amazon listing, to find out how the time option works - you may want to make a note of it. (Photo included, but note that the colors appear lighter than they actually are - the reds and blues are actually quite dark-hued, compared to the photo) ... show more

I have a set of these outside on our baby live spruce and even in freezing cold, rain, and snow. They're working! Big, fatty, colorful bulbs with 8 settings. My only small complaint is the range of the remote is very short. I have to stand right next to the lights to get it working. But the lights are great and the battery life seems reasonable, if not better than expected. I've been using rechargeable batteries to help with the cost/waste and I'd recommend that. ... show more

I wanted something that didn't need to be plugged in because I wanted to put these on my old Scout II. While solar was an option, where I park my truck it doesn't get sufficient sunlight in the winter. This looked to be a good option. Overall they did what I wanted. I just zip tied them to my roof rails and the wire to the battery/control box is long so I just ran that through the lift gate into the truck. The best I got from the batteries was 4 nights. They say the timer is like 6-8 hrs on, so lets say it was 8hr, using fully recharged batteries I got a total of about 32 hours. I'm not sure what the most efficient setting is if you want longer. I just left it on the random light display. The neighbors loved it, we did to so I can't complain too much. I can only recommend that you use rechargeable batteries to save some money. the lights would get dim the last night they worked so the next day I would just recharge the batteries then put them in at sunset because it's a dumb timer, just works from when you turn it on. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I’ve had these lights for a week now. I wanted something that my cat wouldn’t destroy. The bulbs are big enough that she won’t chew on them and the wire I was able to wrap with cord protector. The battery life seems pretty long. I have not had to change the batteries yet and I’ve had the tree lit for several hours each night since purchasing this item one week ago. So 24+ hours of battery life I’d say. ... show more

I was so excited about these lights, and think that they are cute and high-quality. I got them for my apartment balcony, and was happy to see their battery operated as I don’t have an easy place to plug-in. We ordered 2 packs of these battery operated lights and we put them up and after the first night we were sold on them! First off, they were nicely packaged in the box. We don't have to worry about the bulbs breaking anyway because they are a nice plastic and the spacing of the bulbs is nice and not far apart. The battery pack/controller is really easy to use and access. We like that these lights don't have to be plugged in and because of the timer feature, we don't have to worry about turning them on and off ourselves. They are nice and bright too. We liked the 2 sets we used for outdoors so much that we bought another set to use on our stairway railing and they are great there too and our kiddo loves to change the settings from chasing/flash to slow glow etc. There are plenty to choose from and we're very happy with our purchase. ... show more
