LOVE THIS. I have used this and used the Sephora brand blending sponges (Sephora Total Coverage Sponge - the hot pink one). I absolutely prefer the Real Techniques over those. I have not tried an actual brand name Beauty Blender to compare it to that, but from just comparing the shapes of the RT sponge and the traditional Beauty Blender, I think I would still prefer this more. I am not a high coverage makeup wearer, I wear very little make up and use it for special occasions mainly, or if I am bored. So I cannot give a review for an every day/full face makeup user. However, for my needs and my makeup preferences, this works great for me. I love the shape of this. The size is nice even when its dry (I always use it damp) but when used damp (soak completely in water, then ring out the excess), it expands to a great size for covering the face. The flat part is great for the cheeks and forehead, I pretty much use the flat part for every thing... then use the pointed end for under my eyes or to cover any blemishes. I have not tried this with any kind of powders, just BB creams, concealers, and light foundation products. I like that there is a pointed end and also a flat side for the bigger surfaces. I like that it is big enough to grip securely in my hand. Compared to the Sephora sponges, this is much sturdier and I feel like I have better control of the sponge. I also like how this applies. I like that they suggest you apply it damp, I think the majority, if not all beauty sponges now recommend that, but I have very dry skin and feel that the dampness of the sponge helps immensely with how the BB cream/foundation/concealer applies. It helps give me that moisture boost that I need. I bought a Sephora brand sponge because it was on sale, and now that I got these again, I am never going back! These are the best sponges out there in my experience and I am very pleased with them! Beware if you have children - my 2 year old was able to rip the point part of one of my sponges pretty easily. LOVE these sponges! I use them every time I put on foundation! They are the perfect dupe for a Beauty Blender! I used to buy those but they are too expensive to constantly be repurchasing so I tried these and they’re great! They lay down foundation super smoothly and evenly if you just gently bounce them against your face and drag JUST a little. They are washable too! Would highly recommend! I picked this up when my beauty blender finally bit the dust. I figured given the price different and all the rave reviews I'd heard about the real techniques sponges that it was worth a shot. First of all, I have to say that this is NOT an exact dupe for the beauty blender, despite what the dozens of youtube beauty gurus might claim. BUT, it does a fantastic job applying foundation and concealer much more naturally and evenly than any brush I've ever used. The main differences I noticed: The RT sponge is a bit bigger, softer, and absorbs a little more of your foundation than the BB. The pointed end is a bit larger, making it a little more difficult to blend concealer into the inner corner of your eyes. With that said, I really love the RT sponge. The flat side is great for blending product across the face and it actually cleans much easier than the BB (mine seemed to stain much more easily). With the price, I don't feel so bad if this only last 3-6 months. All in all, I'm really happy with my purchase. ... show more

I have had my eye on the overpriced and highly coveted beauty blender for years now, but for a sponge I just cannot justify the price tag. Plus, it doesn't even last forever! You have to replace it every few months, so no way. However, I am constantly in awe over the flawless applications I see when watching my favorite YT beauty gurus. So I finally bit the bullet and decided to try a sponge. I am so happy I did. The application is so flawless and easy to blend, it is kind of amazing. It is fast too and just, well EASY. I like that this Real Techniques one has a pointed tip on one end (I use that side for around my nose and under my eyes) and the flat part on the other. I was a bit hesitant because of the flat part, just because I hadn't seen another sponge made that way. But it is quite nice. I mainly chose this one because I really like RT brushes and my sister recommended their blending sponge. The fact that you get two for half the price of a Beauty Blender just makes me smile. I don't know if I can ever go back to brushes! This would've gotten 5 stars hands down except for one itty bitty thing- it is quite fragile. My very first time using it I accidentally nicked it with my nail and a little piece ripped off immediately. Then again, it is a sponge so you have to expect it to be fragile. Maybe that's the norm... meh ... show more
