I am a fan of the Real Avid products and was looking for a new cleaning rod with a couple caliber cleaning tools I didn't have made this kit look ideal. The cleaning rod is sturdy with a swivel handle and feels great, so pleased with that. Case is nice and keeps things organized and readily available when getting ready to clean your firearms. The disappointing part and one I didn't expect from Real Avid was the flimsy patch accessories. They are made from plastic and don't feel like they will hold up to much use without breaking. Would have given this 5 stars if those patch holders were made from brass. Otherwise its an average kit

After approximately two dozen cleanings, I am happy with this set. I have yet to use the handgun cleaning accessories included in this kit, but the shotgun accessories have been outstanding for me. The brass brushes, patches, and mops have all stood up to standard cleanings with your basic Hoppe's No. 9 solvent and oils. The included handle for the brass rods is a nice touch as you can really get a firm grip while cleaning the bore. I absolutely cannot state how great the storage case is as it is so nice to have a compact kit with everything all in one place. I hang mine from my work bench for easy access and never have to worry about forgetting a cleaning component. My only consideration I have for this kit would be to perhaps buy aftermarket brass loops to replace the plastic ones if you're rougher with your cleanings. Thus far I haven't had any issues with the included ones, however. All in all if you're looking for a decently priced and well put together kit for the field or your home, I'd highly consider this one.

To make it clear, this is my first gun cleaning kit and I am a recent gun owner, so I have next to nothing of experience in gun maintenance short of what I have learned on youtube. That said, this kit was great in that it brought some (admittedly vague at times) instructions on the process of how to use each tool and also had them arranged by caliber which is a big plus given my lack of recognition to the differences asides from the obvious ones and the wrong brush could really mess things up. That said, the loops were much better than the jags, which I couldn't get the patches to actually be pierced by the point, though they felt a bit fragile given they were thin and plastic. Other than that detail, in my last few uses I haven't had any problems and the case feels sturdy. So I'd definitely recommend it as a starting kit at the very least.

Yeah don't get too excited...it's kina cheap stuff..typical. Don't expect this crap to be long lasting...it isn't. Use any of it too much it doesn't hold up that well...it's just barely marginal cleaning equip...I'm sorry I purchaseD it..live and learn..it's just cheap crap really but it works mostly I suppose...wouldn't buy it again and the calibers are missing like AR and AK calibers or Mosin Nagant etc...common weapons among most people here in the USA.

I own other products from this company and they are fine. In this case, trying to be all things to all calibers doesnโt work. All 12 gauge pieces are not 12 gauge, nor are they 16.

It wasn't expensive at all and has all of the tiny brushes and bit, you'd need to clean a variety of pistols and rifles. With all cleaning supplies don't expect them to last forever though.

I spent more than enough time researching and trying to decide on which cleaning kit to get. I went for this one based on its better reviews compared to others available withing the similar price range. This is not a top of the line set, but I am more than happy with my purchase. This set is perfect for the weekend shooter. I have already used most of the pieces a handful of times and I am happy with the quality. The plastic pieces don't break like in the cheaper sets, and the brushes fit the way they should. To make this a "complete" cleaning kit, do what I did, order some bore snakes, detail brushes, good oil and extra high quality cotton patches. 4/5 stars because its great, but not the best, However the best is going to cost you 150 and up. So get this and save the money.

I was looking for a good universal cleaning kit for all my guns and this one offered the most tools. Comes in a great case that fits all the tools snugly so they don't all fall all over the place. I don't know why people are complaining about the case, it is rugged enough for me. Its not like it is meant to be thrown and dropped on the ground and not be broken, Its plastic. I've used all of the cleaning brushes and rods. Not a single issue. Everything fits great and did the job.
