  • Servings are wrong
Flavor Name: Emergency Pack Bucket - 120 Servings
Flavor is good but can be made better with some seasoning. Definitely NOT 6 servings per pouch though hahaha Not sure what calorie or nutritional guide they base that off of but most are 3-4 at best

  • Keep emergency supplies handy
Flavor Name: Variety Pack Bucket - 104 Servings
Considering the world situation I deemed it prudent to keep at least a three month supply of emergency food on hand. You make it very easy to o that.

  • Important to know...
Flavor Name: Entrée Bucket - 60 Servings
I am a vegetarian for ethical reasons. I am encouraged these ‘emergency’ food packs are getting more and more vegetarian. Since I know most of these were packaged likely decades ago I think in less than ten years I will be able to purchase ALL vegetarian selections that were NOT processed on equipment also used for fish or shellfish, if so it would equipment FORMERLY used to process fish or shellfish that is now used exclusively for vegetarian meals. There are several vegetarian selections in this box. SOME OF THOSE HOWEVER WERE PROCESSED ON EQUIPMENT USED FOR FISH OR SHELFISH so as an ethical vegetarian that is VERY difficult, though I am glad they have disclosed this, it would be worse if they lied. I imagine they cleaned it all sparkling and it had no fish or shellfish residue. I will say the vegetarian selections are gourmet in the sense that they are TASTE ALIKES of MEAT meals. The loaded baked potato casserole tasted like potatoes I had eaten at Morton’s (the expensive Chicago based steakhouse,) restaurant before I was a vegetarian. I also had that taste type of potatoes many years ago in a hospital cafeteria before I was a vegetarian. Though Morton’s steakhouse is fancy, many of the food tastes there are old style food tastes and many modern types might not consider that a gourmet taste. These packets are that old style gourmet taste and some are heavily salted. The directions say to add 4 cups of water. NOTE THE DIRECTIONS ARE INCORRECT!!!! You must only use 1 and ½ cups of water per packet or you will get soup!! I recommend Gourmia Cakemakers for making all sorts of things including the vegetarian packets in these. The incredibly easy directions I have figured out to use with a Gourmia Cakemaker to prepare these packets are as follows. Place packet in Gourmia pan. Add 1 ½ cups of water. Close lid turn Gourmia and place on Stir Fry for 30 minutes. Voila, a meal, with little effort and little cleanup. I am recovering from a back injury and use these packets in a pinch. For example when it is difficult for me to stand and prepare a meal due to pain on standing, even boxed mac and cheese is more difficult than this if my back happens to be quite sore at the end of a long day. These packets are great for situations like that and prevent pain. I always recommend freeze dried food be purchased in large quantities from a young age if possible and stored away for retirement, or in case of injury, to augment meals. Just think when you are 100 years old whether you had a back injury or not, easy, heat up packet food seems a good idea. EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT YET VEGETARIAN I RECOMMEND BUYING VEGETARIAN FREEZE DRIED MEALS AND STORING THEM AS YOU WILL LIKELY BECOME A VEGETARIAN FOR ETHICAL REASONS AS YOU MATURE. ... show more
