  • Easy prep and tasty even with microwave hack.
Flavor Name: Emergency Pack Bucket - 120 Servings
The bucket was easy to open and easy to close. It was clean inside and everything was well packed. I tried the chicken pot pie flavored mashed potatoes just to see if I would like the taste. I only cooked half a package and I used a microwave hack to cook it, so keep that in mind. That being said, the taste was very good. It tasted like chicken and mashed potatoes. The vegetables were slightly crunchy in a good way. The texture of the mashed potatoes was acceptable. Especially since I did not use the prescribed cooking method of boiling it in water. I mixed one half of the package with three cups of water in a pampered chef microwave pot, stirred well, and put it in the microwave for 2 minutes on high, stirred and cooked for another 30 seconds. Seconds. I left it. Sit for 15 minutes in the pampered chef pot. The whole experience was good and satisfying. I'm going to try their leftovers reheated and see how that goes lol I will definitely purchase some of the other products and try them as well. Even if you just want to eat cheap for a month, I feel like this is a good idea and worth the money. ... show more

  • Autistic Adult: Hates Cooking
Flavor Name: Prepper Pack Bucket - 52 Servings
I recently purchased the ReadyWise Freeze-Dried Meal Bucket and have been thoroughly impressed with the variety and convenience it offers. As someone who faces challenges with food preparation due to executive dysfunction, this bucket has been a game-changer for ensuring I have nourishing meals without the stress of cooking. The selection of meals included in the bucket is impressive and covers a wide range of flavors and options. From the savory Southwest Beans and Rice to the comforting Tomato and Basil Soup, each meal has provided a delicious and satisfying experience. I appreciate the thoughtfulness of including both breakfast and main meal choices, making it versatile for any time of day. One standout feature is the ease of preparation. Rehydrating the meals has been a breeze, requiring only water and a short waiting time. This convenience has been a lifesaver for most, if not all of my meals. I don't have a food preparation service near my home, so this was the next best thing. In addition, it has helped me portion control and help with my IBS, because it replaced my diet of frozen pizzas and various other "fast" junk food. Overall, I have no problem with the purchase. The only meal I don't prefer is the Tomato and Basil. I complemented this bucket with a bucket of fruit to help balance the nutrient value. The freeze-dried fruit blends have been a delightful addition to my meals. The burst of natural flavors and the nutritional benefits they provide have made each meal more enjoyable and well-rounded. While convenience is paramount for me, I've also been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meals. The textures and flavors have exceeded my expectations for freeze-dried food, and I haven't encountered any unpleasant aftertastes or artificial flavors. The ReadyWise Freeze-Dried Meal Bucket has become an essential part of my meal planning, whether for quick on-the-go options or for emergencies. The peace of mind it provides is invaluable, knowing that I have a variety of wholesome meals at my fingertips. In summary, I highly recommend the ReadyWise Freeze-Dried Meal Bucket to anyone seeking a convenient, flavorful, and balanced meal solution. It's a fantastic way to ensure you're well-prepared for various situations, and it's a game-changer for individuals like me who face challenges with food preparation. Disclaimer: As a reviewer, my experience is specific to my personal needs and preferences. However, I believe the quality and convenience of this product would be valuable for anyone looking for hassle-free meal options. ... show more

  • Wise Food 84servings
Flavor Name: Breakfast and Entrée - 84 Servings
Well I ordered my bucket through amazon so that i would not have any trouble with sellers and return shipping if need be.. (Amazon Prime Free Shipping..) I also have emailed with people at Wise FOods actual Company and they have talked to me about their food and Also Sent me a 4serv Sample for my family to try. When we made the packet we were kind of surprised at the food and how much it made. I have eaten many MRE's for weeks at a time and when I tried the Wise Food sample I was very surprised at how it tasted, way better than some of th MRE's I have eaten in the past. I cannot speak for all of their food but the packet I had was not too bad, it tasted kind of like cup of noodles. As far as the taste, it was not horrible, it was better than some MRE's I have tried, but if you are comparing it to food that we have now of course you would not want to eat the food instead of what we think of as our "normal food". So when people say wow this food is horrible, it is not far to compare this to the food that we have available to us now, you have to have a mindset of wow if I had Absolutely Nothing to eat if there was an emergency or even the end of the world haha, then would you want to starve to death? or would you want to try and eat scraps of whatever you could find? NO, You WOuld Be Very Happy to have this long term survival food that you would be able to eat and survive on!! If you would have to eat this food in a survival situation you would be very happy with how the food tastes then, You Would Be Happy to have a Hot Meal and you would NOT be B*******, at how bad this tastes, if you had no other food it would taste amazing. So when you judge the taste of the food you should judge it as if you had absolutely nothing else to eat, and at a shelf life of up to 25 years, this is a much better option than buying other canned goods that you have to rotate every couple of years... When I recieved my bucket, (I ordered one 84 serv bucket) I was Very Surprised at how small the bucket actually is! I am kind of mad that I read that some of the servings inside the bucket are actually 4 serv bags, but even that is not all that bad because it will not go bad in a day or how every long it takes yo uto eat it, so thats not that big of a deal, but verall I am happy with this purchase and I will be buying more, I am happy with the amazing customer service I recieved from the actual company Wise, they emailed me told me to ask them if I had any questions, and they had a 4serving bag sent out within a week for my family to sample. This type of emergency food storage is an awesome idea to have in case of any emergency, and at 25yrs of shelf life, you cant get any better than that!!! ... show more

  • Perfectly acceptable emergency food source
Flavor Name: Prepper Pack Bucket - 52 Servings
I purchased this item for one purpose only. To sustain life during a survival situation regardless of what that situation might be. I purchased this item with that goal in mind. With that said, I'll note a few thoughts on this product. In deciding products to purchase, I ordered samples from various companies. Although I do not plan to open this bucket until needed in an emergency, I did try out Wise Foods sample entrees. I can say that they were packed well in bags with oxygen absorbers in each bag. When preparing the meals, I took heed of some other reviews about water amounts and started with a little less that half the water called for. With the stroganoff, this produced an extremely thick sauce and crunchy noodles. After adding about 1/4 cup over half what is called for, the sauce thinned a bit to a nice creamy texture and the noodles became soft. The flavor was better than tolerable but not great simply because I don't care for super salty foods. The serving size is a bit small but I felt fulfilled despite that. Contrary to some other reviews I have seen, I did not feel excessively thirsty afterward. This is not something I would ever take camping nor would I ever use this food as a quick meal at home. What I did discover, however, was that this food is more than acceptable to survive on when there is nothing else. That is what this food was meant for and that is what I am using it for. For that reason, I am comfortable giving this product 5 stars. I would very much rather eat this than eating a stray cat, insects, or raw rat meat. One final note. Many reviews mention the excessive salt. I have found that every long term food storage product I have looked at had just about the same salt content per serving. Wise foods seem to have a little less than some other brands but it's still up pretty high. I, for one, won't be complaining about that when I'm starving to death. ... show more

  • Important to know...
Flavor Name: Entrée Bucket - 60 Servings
I am a vegetarian for ethical reasons. I am encouraged these ‘emergency’ food packs are getting more and more vegetarian. Since I know most of these were packaged likely decades ago I think in less than ten years I will be able to purchase ALL vegetarian selections that were NOT processed on equipment also used for fish or shellfish, if so it would equipment FORMERLY used to process fish or shellfish that is now used exclusively for vegetarian meals. There are several vegetarian selections in this box. SOME OF THOSE HOWEVER WERE PROCESSED ON EQUIPMENT USED FOR FISH OR SHELFISH so as an ethical vegetarian that is VERY difficult, though I am glad they have disclosed this, it would be worse if they lied. I imagine they cleaned it all sparkling and it had no fish or shellfish residue. I will say the vegetarian selections are gourmet in the sense that they are TASTE ALIKES of MEAT meals. The loaded baked potato casserole tasted like potatoes I had eaten at Morton’s (the expensive Chicago based steakhouse,) restaurant before I was a vegetarian. I also had that taste type of potatoes many years ago in a hospital cafeteria before I was a vegetarian. Though Morton’s steakhouse is fancy, many of the food tastes there are old style food tastes and many modern types might not consider that a gourmet taste. These packets are that old style gourmet taste and some are heavily salted. The directions say to add 4 cups of water. NOTE THE DIRECTIONS ARE INCORRECT!!!! You must only use 1 and ½ cups of water per packet or you will get soup!! I recommend Gourmia Cakemakers for making all sorts of things including the vegetarian packets in these. The incredibly easy directions I have figured out to use with a Gourmia Cakemaker to prepare these packets are as follows. Place packet in Gourmia pan. Add 1 ½ cups of water. Close lid turn Gourmia and place on Stir Fry for 30 minutes. Voila, a meal, with little effort and little cleanup. I am recovering from a back injury and use these packets in a pinch. For example when it is difficult for me to stand and prepare a meal due to pain on standing, even boxed mac and cheese is more difficult than this if my back happens to be quite sore at the end of a long day. These packets are great for situations like that and prevent pain. I always recommend freeze dried food be purchased in large quantities from a young age if possible and stored away for retirement, or in case of injury, to augment meals. Just think when you are 100 years old whether you had a back injury or not, easy, heat up packet food seems a good idea. EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT YET VEGETARIAN I RECOMMEND BUYING VEGETARIAN FREEZE DRIED MEALS AND STORING THEM AS YOU WILL LIKELY BECOME A VEGETARIAN FOR ETHICAL REASONS AS YOU MATURE. ... show more
