I have used these for fairly easy and low elevation gain hikes as well as snow-hiking with micro spikes in cold weather with more technical elevation gain. I am ~150 pounds, an 8-10 pant size, and 5’7”, and the medium fits loose enough that I could wear a thin base-layer below (I run cold). At 32 degrees I had to wear a heavy wheight base layer under or still would have been cold. These are fine for 40 degree dog walks in cold weather - except the thighs scrape together and are kinda loud. But for the snow-hiking that had more technical hiking and elevation gain they didn’t work as well. There wasn’t enough stretch for scrambling up icy-rocks on the trail, and the waist wasn’t high enough and the back would slip down a little when sitting or kneeling and then the cold air hits your lower back. I kept having to pull them up and readjust them along the technical hike and it was super annoying. I think these could work for simple skiing or cold-weather walks that don’t require climbing or scrambling or kneeling or don’t have elevation gain with a lot of steps up or down - but they are not good for more rigorous cross-country skiing or snowshoeing or snow-hiking that is more demanding and technical. For that they definitely need to create a drop-seat bib instead and I do not recommend these for those sports. ... show more

I bought 2 of them, for me and my girl and OMG!! Apart from being comfortable, they seem well tailored, good quality. I took mine hiking through rainforest and got in the cold water with them and they were warm, even being wet. Drying takes a while since the fabric inside is mean to keep you warm. If you take them inside the water they will be a bit heavy of course but it’s not that heavy where you can’t swim. They are somewhat stretchy by the waist which is great for every girl. I hope they end up Being as durable as i think they will. ... show more

I bought these for winter hunting and farm chores. They are SO WARM. You don't even need to layer with these. There's plenty of pocket space. They are a little noisy for hunting when your legs are rubbing together but overall great for snow activities. They are not 100% waterproof though. I wanted a more fitted snow pant for skiing and winter hiking in MN. I wore these for the first time on a windy day, about 20°F for downhill skiing in northern MN. I only wore a pair of long underwear leggings underneath. The stretch for these was great. Though a fitted style, I was able to move, bend, even fall a few times, and my mobility in the pants was not impacted. The bottoms stretched over my ski boot too which was nice. I found them to be water resistant, breathable, and did not get cold from the high winds even on the chair lift and while skiing. The zip front pockets held my phone and my electronic lift pass. The waist band was comfortable and I did not need a belt. All in all, very pleased with this purchase. Had it been colder or wetter conditions these may not have been adequate.
