  • Charging was sketch
Color: Pink
I really wanted to like this scooter Got it for the kiddo and was able to enjoy it for maybe about a week. When the battery discharged, we charged it. The instructions said to charge it for (I believe) 12 hours. It's been a while, so it could have been something else, but who has the time to manually disconnect the charger after 12 hours. I figured it would just stop charging after the time was up anyway. So the next time she went to use it, the scooter had considerably less strength. Whereas before, it was powerful enough to get the kiddo up a hill, now it coudn't cope with the same hill. I do believe I left it charged a few hours longer than was necessary. Thinking that I had destroyed the batteries, I bought replacements, then repeated the same procedure without much luck. It's basically a brick at this point. Would be great to find a scooter that has some sort of intelligent charging/battery system . . . something I can just plug in and forget about until it's time to use it again. Also preferably something I can switch into manual mode so if the kiddo doesn't want to use the battery, it can be used as a normal scooter. ... show more

  • Details you NEED to know before buying a razor scooter!
Color: Pink
I bought this scooter from amazon right after Thanksgiving of 2007. The shipping was super fast! Three days! It was selling in stores for $129 but Amazon was selling for $89 + free shipping! What a deal! The scooter did not come in a concealed box. In other words, when UPS brings it to your door it is in it's original package and it is obvious what the item is. So if it is a surprise or gift make sure your child doesn't go to the door with you to sign for it! Building this thing is a piece of cake! You just screw on the handle bars! One screw on the inside and one on the outside. Very simple. Tools come with it as do the screws! Five minutes to build. Frame is very durable. The chain doesn't drag like some of the reviews that I've read. It must charge for 24 hours before the first ride. And twelve to eight hours after that. Battery last 45 minutes but we found that it lasts a little more than a hour. You can turn motor off and still ride the scooter. I would suggest doing this a few times to allow the child to get used to balancing and steering. You have to kick off for motor to start and it does give a little jolt. The box says it goes up to 10 mph. I don't think ours has gotten that fast. Maybe if you ride on a straight road for several minutes it might reach that speed, but for the most part ours was going a little faster than someone speed walking. Also the lighter you are the faster you went! The brake is located on the handle bars on the left side. Weight limit is 120LBS but we have also found that it does hold up to 220LBS for a quick try, if you can't resist! My daughter is seven and she handles the scooter well after a little bit of practice. I would say it is a good scooter for ages 7-12 years old. Please wear a helmet!!! ... show more

  • Make a child smile - with safety
Color: Pink
This is my second purchase. The first unit is for our grandchild. Her smiles was all I needed to confirm it was money well spent. She knows it is here at our home for her visits. We recently had one of her cousins visit who lives a distance from us. Well, her smiles were just as bright when she rode the scooter for her 2 day visit. Seeing her happiness we bought a unit and had it shipped to her home. Her screams of joy when she got home to see the same scooter was waiting for her once again placed smiles in our hearts. And while it is fun, the speed limit of 10 MPH is just right. They can “fly” down the sidewalk or streets in the neighborhood while still well within the range of safe use. I strongly recommend this product for others. ... show more

  • First impressions: tons of fun (and maybe for the adults too!)
Color: Pink
This thing was a complete hit this christmas. After the scooter was charged up, we took it for a spin. The lighter the person, the faster it goes. For an adult (within its max weight range), the scooter is manageable. But for a tiny kid, the jolt from acceleration can be a bit surprising. I was a bit reluctant to order the E100 due to the lower speed, but 10 mph is already a bit ridiculous for a kid scooter. Maybe you can get a normal Razor that fast...down a hill..with a breeze... I could not image what terrible accidents 15 mph would cause. One counterintuitive "feature" is the requirement that you push start the scooter before it starts. Kids find this hard to understand and it does require a bit more speed than I thought would be needed. In a way, I consider this a safety feature. If you are worried about little kids randomly going up to the unit, pressing the accelerator and flipping a wheelie, this might be the one for you. It's a little heavy to push on it's own, but it's not impossible. You could ride or push this scooter home without batteries if needed. ... show more

  • Scooter max speed doesn’t last long
Color: Pink
The scooter is super cute and our daughter loved it at first, BUT it does not work as advertised. Something must be wrong with the battery as it will not go full speed after maybe 1 mile or even less. We charged it after every use for +12 hours but the scooter starts to slow down significantly after a few rounds around the block. I am convinced this is not user error as we have followed the instructions thoroughly. I doubt one charge would even last 10 miles as described, we never tested it for that long cuz my daughter would get bored once it starts moving no faster than 5 miles an hour. Additionally, the closed kick stand sticks out a bit to for and has scratched the inside of my daughter’s ankle when kick starting the scooter. The back tire is made out of hard plastic which makes the ride very bumpy and loud (definitely not a smooth ride), and since the tire is so small it makes it difficult to get over even the smallest edge or onto a side walk, I have to always help her lift it up. We are returning the scooter and purchasing a different model. ... show more
