  • Perfect for my PC cabinet
I used this along with 7 Noctua fans to cool off the inside of a cabinet I built to hold my gaming pc (5800x w/240 AIO + 3090fe neither break 65c under gaming load) work laptop, small network switch and my APC. The install and configuration process is incredibly simple and works right out of the box. I mounted this externally from my PC case but it has magnets that allow it to stick to the metal of your case. The fans are mounted using AC Infinity grills. I created a couple custom fan curves, one Idle and the other for Gaming. I’m not going to take any stars away but there could be some improvements to the configuration. I’d really like to see the option to set the fans to 0 RPM. Might not be the best option for me but I can see where it would be beneficial. I’d also like to see a PWM option, that allows you to control the fans speed based on the GPU temp, currently on the CPU temp is taken into consideration. I emailed Razer’s suggestion box so it could still happen. If you’re working on a “hidden PC” or PC in a desk, this has to be on your component short list! ... show more

  • Works great with Synapse 4
Build quality is great and works just right with the software.

  • Works Great!
I'm a razer guy, all my stuff is razer. So, I needed this for my Kunai fans and it works great. Synapse app could use some work, but the controller works just fine.

  • Doesn't work with all PWM fans, don't expect help from Razer Support
I really want to like the Razer PWM Controller...however, there are some MAJOR drawbacks that kill it as a useful product: - Razer Support refuses to help with it. It seems it's not actually made by Razer, so they can't support it. - It does not work with all brands of PWM fans. Razer expects you to spend the money, try fans, and do the testing to see which fans are compatible. - It only reads the temperature of the CPU and assumes that is the system temperature. ... show more

  • Finally, enough fan headers for ITX.
I have an Asus x570-I. It has a woeful amount of fan headers for a $250 board. It kind of quietly angers me. So I found this. It works but not on boot up. I have to unplug and then re-insert every fan back in the hub, wait a few seconds and then all is good. So, it frustratingly fixed an issue. It could be that I had to use an internal usb hub. I had to. The frigging motherboard only comes with one. All in all it does what it say and it’s honestly a cool gadget but it has flaws. Mileage may vary and it may well work awesome for you. But if you are having issues like me, 1) Remove back of PC cover(or wherever you have all this installed)2)unplug the fans, 3) Replug the fans 4) Presto, fully working in Razer Synapse. It’s worth the price if you need the hubs. You do get 8. If all you need is every fan running at the same speed, most modern cases give you a fan hub for free. Use that instead. This does seem to work fine with Noctua fans but it only reads one of the two 160mm Lian Li fans that came with my case, hence, the work around I found. Some fans may not work. I agree with one confirmed purchase about that not being cool. Having to purchase multiple brands of PC fans just to make sure they work with this, is fairly unacceptable. You could buy the Razer fans, but I really don’t want to. ... show more

  • Works okay..
Does the job decently. Although synapse app is a little annoying it gets the job done. The size the of the unit is great though and can fit most 2.5 hdd/ssd mount points. Synapse app is not all that great but works.

  • Great little fan controller, but held back by shoddy software.
I had this controller for about a week. But I had too many little issues that kept me from keeping it, or even recommending it over a a simple fan hub. Yes, This is a controller. Not a hub. This requires a usb connection and the Razer Synapse software for it to work properly. But that was where this controller fell apart. I had fans reading in the tens of thousands of rpm's after the software was installed. But worked perfectly fine connected to the motherboard. So I am not sure of where this fault lay. Note, that it was only a few of my fans, and corsair ones oddly enough. But they others worked perfectly fine. This controller only works properly with 4 pin PWM fans. Any 3 pin will run at max velocity with no ability to control the rpm. Effective PWM fan control range is about 30%-100%. It, like the argb controller, was slow to respond to changes. The software seemed a bit laggy. The fans speeds didnt update very quickly either. The other problem, and a glaring one for me. You cannot control what the fans are controlled by. Say I want the fans controlled by the GPU, cant do that. Or have two fans controlled by the GPU, and the rest controlled by the system temperature or chassis probe. Nope. It seemed the controller did its work by CPU temps, and nothing else. I dont know if it was just my unit or not, but populating each port with a fan that could hit 2k rpms or higher, the overall hubs ability to push each fan to their max rpm seemed to diminish. Had 8 2400 rpm fans attached, and my fans were topping out at about 1800-1900 rpms. Could be a fault of them moving to a sata power connector too. I dont know. Removing one or two of those fans restored their max rpm's. This controller is extremely well built. It feels solid, not too heavy, but not light enough to deter its quality. Had mounting holes on the bottom the same size as those on a 2.5" hard disk or ssd. Also magnetic. Not a super strong magnet for obvious reasons, but it was enough that I could plop it on my chassis bracket and it stayed fast in place. Even with 8 fan wires coming off of it. The wires were a tad short, so If you have a larger case, I would invest in some extension cables. Sata power connector, and motherboard USB header connector. Other than that, this is a solid bit of kit. Looks fantastic, but is held back by mediocre software control. Hopefully they make an improved version with more finite controls. I would definitely be on board with this then. ... show more

  • Able to control other brands fans
This plus Be Quiet Lightwings fans make a beast of a combo. U can actually control the speeds of each individual fans. IT ALSO WORKS WITH FAN SPLITTERS!!!!! U can easily use and access more fans with a decent PWM splitter.
