Would Recommend
Very satisfied. It has a great build quality and is even smaller than the pictures show. I would recommend the Razer Prio for individuals with smaller hands for it will feel cramped over long play sessions. My only issue is that the thumb sticks don’t push in which can be annoying for games that use every possible button on a controller. I have been enjoying it so far and I haven’t come across any major issues. ... show more

Lacks too many features to cost this much
I wanted a portable controller for my phone. The previous Kishi model was great for what it was, but wasn't the most convenient to bring along and, ultimately, mine got damaged from being carried around in my backpack all the time. I thought the Prio and it's foldable form would have been a worthwhile and longer-lasting replacement that I could just keep in my pocket. And, It might have been if not for how much else that it lacked. For starters, one of the things I didn't like with the Kishi was that it wasn't case compatible. Prio was advertised to be that and, while it did seem to fit over the case on my phone with relative ease, it still would not allow the USB connector to plug into my phone properly (even with all the rubber pads removed). The case still needed to be removed in order for a proper connection so that it would work. What's even worse (and what ultimately clinched my decision to return the Prio for a refund) is that, unlike the Kishi, it doesn't have a USB charge-through port on it. This means that the entire time I'm using the controller, it would be using power from my phone to work while blocking every possible means to keep the phone charged. I don't know if this was necessary to make the controller more portable/foldable, but the omission is frankly unforgiveable. Especially for a controller that lacks so many other features from other cheaper full-sized counterparts and still bewilderingly costs $99. What does this controller even have to warrant such a price?! A Playstation DualSense controller, arguably one of the most advanced game controllers currently on the market and bristling with top of the line features, doesn't even cost this much. I'd be much better off buying one of those with a carrying case and a plastic phone clip for that much money. ... show more

Great product, some things to consider
Quality: There are some inconsistencies in button noise, for example L button is noisier than R button, also expect L3 and R3 to be kind of noisy as well, if you don’t have a case that fits tightly expect some squeaking noises from it. Face buttons are pretty quiet, but after some use my A button started to make some noise, you could try pressing it in other way to avoid it (i end up putting some tape to reduce that noise). But its really really quiet overall, im just being really demanding about those features. Comfort/Fit: About the comfort, you can compare it with classic PSP, its not uncomfortable at all form me, you just have to know how to grab the controller and the joysticks. Portability is amazing, easy to carry and to setup. Im using it with a Iphone 16 Pro Max without any trouble. Joysticks are very precise. Connectivity: Sometimes after blocking the phone or some extended period of inactivity it wont detect and you have to reconnect it. I guess is for battery saving purposes ... show more

The right controller for the job.
This little controller is great. You can't have a full sized controller that will fit in your pocket, so get over it. This is as good as it gets for playing games while "waiting" on the go. I don't think this was designed with the esports gamer in mind. It was made for guys like me who want to play classic or single player games on the go but hate touch controls. I have sausage fingers and it feels comfortable in my hands. I wear a large in men's glove size. If you have a very thick case this won't work. It feels much more comfortable than under-mount controllers that feel top heavy. It plugs into your phone, but doesn't really use battery power. These plug in controllers will drain less than 1% of your battery life out of 100%. It fits my Torras magsafe case perfectly with my S24+. It is virtually plug and play, the app is optional. Over-all it improves my comfort and enjoyment while playing games while sitting in waiting rooms. That was my goal. The price is steep for a little controller for your phone, I am a little worried about the longevity of the product. If I get 3 years out of it I will be happy. If in 12 months is breaks with no recourse, I will not buy from the brand again. It fills a niche need for gamers like me and does it well. So if you have been looking for something like this, go for it. ... show more

Ok, not great
Ok, not great, and temper your expectations. Size: The size is what I got this for. I prefer the size of a Backbone One (non-pro), but I’ve own 3 that all eventually break (left side). So, I got the g8+ mfi which is FANTASTIC but it’s huge! This controller is tinier then all other while maintaining 2 press-able sticks (r3/l3) and 4 shoulder buttons. Size: 5/5 Ergonomics: do not buy for ergos, let alone if you want to use the sticks. Very difficult to use the stick with nothing for your palm to grip to. D-pad and face buttons are fine though. If retro gaming is your thing and you don’t need quick actions there will probably be no issues. I did try some Boomer-shooters like Boltgun 40k and it’s doable for about 5 minutes before your hand starts cramping. Ergos: 2/5 Product quality: the plastic is very light and does feel cheap for $100. The shoulder buttons are passable but have almost 0 resistance. Quality: 2/5 Overall I’m going to keep it, but I really wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else unless it’s on sale at or below $60 ... show more

Gimmick
Its not remotely useable or comfortable. I have regular sized hands and the shoulder buttons cant really be pressed or used. Stick to backbone which is small enough and still usable (and the pro even more so).

The Phone Controller I Can Actually Keep in My Pocket
I have used a few phone controllers that feel great once they are attached, but the problem is actually carrying them around. Most are still big enough that I end up tossing them in a bag, which means they are not with me when I unexpectedly have 20 minutes to kill. The Prio solves that better than anything else I have tried. Folded up, it is genuinely small enough to shove into a pocket, and I can pull it out, unfold it around my phone, plug in USB-C, and start playing without pairing or worrying about whether the controller itself is charged. That compact design does come with a tradeoff. The controls are smaller and a little more cramped than something like the Razer Kishi, so if comfort is your top priority and you plan on sitting down for multi-hour gaming sessions, I would probably lean toward the larger controller. The Kishi gives my hands more room, with larger sticks and controls that feel closer to a traditional gamepad. The Prio is really built around a different question: how much controller can Razer fit into something I will actually carry everywhere? For that purpose, it works extremely well. The thumbsticks feel precise and responsive, and I like the capacitive design since stick drift is one of the things that makes me nervous about small controllers that may spend a lot of time bouncing around in a pocket. The face buttons have a nice tactile response without being obnoxiously loud, and despite the size you still get the full set of triggers, bumpers, sticks, and programmable buttons needed for games that really do not translate well to touchscreen controls. USB-C is also exactly what I want on something this portable. There is no Bluetooth setup, no extra battery to keep charged, and essentially no ceremony between deciding I want to play and actually being in the game. It has worked especially well for PC remote play, where I can stream something from my desktop to my phone and suddenly have what feels like a tiny handheld gaming system in my pocket. The fact that it accommodates most phone cases is another small thing that makes a big difference because I do not want to remove my case every time I use it. At $100, you are definitely paying for the engineering that makes it this compact rather than getting the biggest or most comfortable controller for the money. If I were buying something primarily for gaming on the couch, I would choose a larger option. If portability is the foremost concern, though, I do not think there is much comparison. The Prio fills its niche extremely well: it is the controller I can actually keep in my pocket and have with me whenever a few minutes of downtime unexpectedly turns into gaming time. ... show more
