  • Game-Changer for AR Gaming on the Go
I've been using the VITURE X 8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller for a couple of weeks now, and it has totally changed how I play games on my phone. I pair it with my VITURE AR glasses, and wow—it works perfectly with them. The setup is simple: just connect via USB-C to my Android phone, slip the phone into the grips, and pop on the glasses. No lag at all, even in fast games like shooters or racing ones. The wide field of view from the glasses makes everything feel like a big screen, and this controller's low-latency connection keeps it smooth. It's like having a full console setup without being tied to a TV. What I love most is how comfy it is for long sessions. The grips fit my hands just right, and the buttons feel solid—none of that mushy click you get with cheap controllers. The Hall Effect sticks are a big plus; they don't drift after hours of play, which was an issue with my old one. Plus, the back buttons let me map extras for games that need them, and I can tweak everything in the app. Oh, and charging while playing? Genius. I plug in a power bank, and it lasts forever without cutting out. It works great with all my Android games—no issues there—and even hooks up to my tablet for bigger-screen fun (though you might need longer cables). One small note: it's wired, so no total freedom, but the cable is long enough to not feel restrictive. If you're into mobile gaming with AR glasses, this is a must-have. Super happy with it! ... show more

  • Amazing! First Mobile Controller with USB OTG passthrough!
This controller is a game changer for people with limited phone storage. The Viture USB-C port under the grip is a little awkward but worth the trouble. What you end up with is the first mobile controller I've found that has USB OTG passthrough. Meaning you can plug a USB-C 3.1 flash drive in the port, and utilize the expanded storage for gaming. Really nice for Winlator Cmod ;) Would love if there could be a version with ports at the top of the device, rumble, and mode switching like the Abxylute S9, but different controllers can serve different purposes. Only word of caution- avoid 3.2 USB-C flash drives, anything 3.2 really (unless you convert it down, but thats just more awkward as it will jut out of the device even more). When it comes to the actual intended functionality, well, it works! I can plug a USB-C cable from the controller to a portable monitor for example- and it will show up on the display. The only issue there is just make sure you have enough power to the monitor itself, also- important, disconnecting the power cable during use will cause the USB OTG port to lose connectivity until reconnecting. I also think that the bumpers are way too loud and clicky. Otherwise feels great to hold, everything functions as intended. 5/5 for 8BitDo and Viture pushing the envelope. Would love a controller with MicroSD card support, and/or integrated dock like capabilities. You could make any Android device into a Steam Deck! ... show more

  • Mushy clicky DPad
This is almost a great controller held back by a mushy d-pad. I like the otg port that I use for a headphone DAC and the charging port is adequate to play games indefinitely. The face buttons and triggers and sticks work great but the dpad is like if you taped a cross to joycon buttons. If you press even moderately hard it will press the adjacent buttons because the pivot is too shallow. I know 8bitdo can make a great dpad on their controllers so I was really disappointed here. It would be perfect otherwise. If you have the XR glasses or need the otg port for an sd card then give it a shot otherwise get yourself a proper controller. ... show more

  • Works well, no battery or BT needed
I got this primarily to use as a controller for retro gaming. I am using it with a Pixel9 in the case, and it works very well. Pros are that it does not have a battery or require charging, and it does not need bluetooth. For inserting the phone I found grasping the left-side controller and phone together, and then pulling the right-side open and closing it slowly seemed to work the best. I have a mid-thickness case, which works OK. Thick cases I think would have a problem because the USB connector doesn't really have height adjustment (it can flex a bit up/down). The controller does not require any software installed to work. With the direct USB connection the controller shows up in all the emulators I've used so far, including Retroarch, NetherSX2, and PPSSPP. By default the emulators seemed to map the buttons correctly. In all cases, all the buttons except the right-side back button showed up and could be remapped (including select, start, triggers, the thumbstick buttons, the home button, and the left-side back button). For some reason the back-right button did not work in the emulators but I can tell it is functional (via the 8bitdo software). Even so, for retro usage, all the normal buttons plus left-back is enough to cover all needs. I had no problem installing the 8bitdo ultimate software v2 from the Play store. This seems mostly useful for adjusting trigger ranges, stick ranges, or remapping buttons. The back buttons are unmapped by default, and do not seem to have a unique mapping available (there are 18 mappable buttons, but only 16 choices, the back 2 have no unique choice). The software has a test function that can be used to verify all buttons and controls are working. Aside from testing the buttons I found this software unnecessary as the emulators can already do button remapping. It is perhaps more useful for native Android apps. Regarding ports - the top USB port can charge while playing. This worked fine. I have a Viture Pro (a couple years old now). At first it was not working when plugged in the bottom USB port. But after doing a firmware upgrade on the glasses, they are working fine now. I did run into a strange behavior with the bottom USB port. Occasionally if I connected the controller first and used it that way for a while (such as running an emulator), and then later plugged in wired audio or the Viture glasses, the devices would not be recognized. However unplugging the phone from the controller and then reinserting it seemed to fix the problem. Overall using the bottom USB port with audio devices worked OK. ... show more

  • Works well but be careful when adding in your device.
Tested on a Galaxy S26 Ultra. Works as advertised. Can be used with or without XR glasses and keeps the phone pretty secure. At first I thought I couldn't use my phone with it's cover, so my first tests were done without one. But after fiddling with it, the connection was successful. The usb-c connector can be angled a little bit upwards to allow you to first sit the phone on it, to then pull the d pad side and sit the rest of the phone in. This seems to be the safest way to do it, because the spring mechanism is quite strong, and trying to pull the gamepad from both sides to try to sit the phone in one go may increase the risk of breaking something. Android games with gamepad support work without issues, and the buttons and sticks all work rather well. The d pad is a little on the small side, so you could accidentally press more than one direction, depending on your thumb size and muscle memory. But after getting used to it, there seems to be no problems. All in all a good gamepad even if you don't have the glasses yet but plan to get them. Though, make sure they are Viture glasses because other brands may or may not work. ... show more

  • Does not work with RayNeo Air Glasses
This product is not listed as being proprietary for Viture glasses, it says its compatible with XR glasses, which RayNeo glasses are. I have the Rayneo Air 2S that are updated to the latest firmware and I can confirm that no matter how much I troubleshoot with different cables, the glasses are not detected with this controller. For reference, I have an S25 Ultra that's on the latest firmware as well. Extremely disappointing. Be weary if you have another brand of XR Glasses that are not the Viture brand as they may not work. ... show more

  • BEST IN THE MARKET, with some needed improvements
This is THE BEST mobile gaming controller out right now simply because of these reasons: 1. It has 45W USB-C pass-thru charging (useful for gaming phones with Bypass Charging to not degrade the battery). 2. It has another USB-C for OTG & Viture XR Glasses. 3. It uses swivel USB-C instead of Bluetooth to Connect to your phone, which eliminates input lag and the need to charge the controller. 4. It is the most comfortable design I've tried (and I have tried a lot of other controllers), good choice that they used 8BitDo's collab but better! (since that one has Bluetooth only). 5. The Dark Transparent design is one of the coolest designs ever. What they can do to make it better: 1. More stable back mechanism, since it has some wiggle. It needs to be more stiff. 2. Less "clicky" sounding buttons for the ABXY. It's loud. 3. Maybe a room for a phone cooler in future custom versions. 4. Custom replaceable phone rubber grip sizes. Since some phones like the Red Magic 10/10S pro with a thicker case pops out from it. ... show more

  • Disappointed by one of my favorite brands
I was really excited about this product, because Viture products are usually really high quality, and so are 8 bit do ones. I use 2 different 8bitDo joysticks, viture pro glasses, and the viture mobile dock and they are all great. I also had the chance to test the luma series and even though they are out of my price range right now, I honestly think they are the best XR glasses available in the market and will remain so in the foreseeable future. Same goes for the neckband pro, which I have really enjoyed using when I was able to borrow, but is also outisde my price range, since I can just plug my Viture pros to the phone. Some people give the neckband a lot of shade, but honestly I think it's a solid 4 star product, with the only downside being the short battery life. It's still the best solution for getting a movie theatre experience during long commutes in train / planes or when camping or being away in a place without a huge TV, plus it allows for 3D movies, which my TV doesn't. Keep in mind that this is a viable way of doing remote play through things like steam link, but unfortunately even my powerful S25+ on a reliable 5g network can struggle to reliably do long distance streaming, so unless you have great Internet service or wifi, don't expect a perfect streaming experience. You can still always use this for playing mobile games from your phone. The only real issue I have is that even with a low profile case on my phone, the usb c connector is too short to connect to the controller, so I have to remove my case and leave the phone unprotected (plus lose practicality) . Again, not the worst issue, but still a really silly design flaw that I would not expect from either 8bitDo or Viture. ... show more
