    • Excellent camera, but the lighting is a bit harsh
The camera quality is fantastic. I tend to use other "warmer" lights or bounce them off the walls so it doesn't look like I'm being questioned by the cops nor look pale as a ghost ... I'm pale enough as it is. The microphone is also pretty darn good, though I also use an external microphone but could use this one and would be fine with it. The software of this Razor LOVES to autofocus, especially if there is anything with writing on it in the background. It's weird because it's a webcam; it's not like I'm going to be 1 foot away and then like 30 feet away. You can set the focal range, but it will reset to "autofocus on all the things" depending on the application you use. For zoom, as that's often what I use it for, it always defaults to autofocus. It usually remembers to be in NOT autofocus mode for other programs, but I'm constantly turning autofocus off or can't trust that it IS off. The focal range is a little sensative and I had to write the setting for the focal range. It's got all these options for focus and lighting and sound but the autofocus is what makes it annoying. If you're only going to use this for one program, like twitch (probably why lots of steamers use it) or you like autofocus for some reason, or your work space has you running into the background a lot, the autofocus is fine. I'm fine with having my zooms be a little shifty if my other recordings are crisp, but if you can't be bothered to change it every time, this is the one feature I'd want them to fix. This has a couple great mounting options, and this became my household's go-to cam for shutdown. We've now got 3, and I've referred a few coworkers. Razer does have some extra video software for it, but you don't need to install it in order to use the cam. It's great. I teach via zoom and needed a decent webcam. This is great. I mounted it on an arm to the wall. The ring light is good when you really need a crisp quality. The camera flits in and out of focus, but not enough to be too bothersome.

Let me just say I'm buying this camera from another vendor. Picture quality was amazing for the 10 minutes it worked. But shortly after it started making a high pitched buzzing. On top of that, the ring light never worked at all. This is just ridiculous.

The picture is great! solves the need for a ring light. the light itself is a little bright but you'll be okay if you don't go past the first setting.     • Not the quality upgrade I was hoping for
I was expecting a bigger upgrade from the built in cameras in my laptop and ipad. This is ok, but has some odd contrast issues, occasionally has focus resetting and is generally underwhelming. The light feels more like a gimmick than a functional feature. It looks good though, and the tilt back feature is nice. It is fine for work calls, but I'd probably use something else if for presenting or streaming where video quality would be important. ... show more
