It doesn't leave a ton of room to see, but my five year old says she can see just fine. I bought the cute youth pink Rawlings helmet and it fit just fine. NO you cannot flip the cage over to make more room... I thought you could and you can't. What you can do is only bolt on one screw each side, which is enough to keep it in place and you can wiggle it down for more room. Obviously not too much or the ball will come flying into face, this rendering useless.... ... show more

My 8 year old daughter already had a softball helmet, new year requested to have face guards. It arrived on time, it was easy to install...pretty self explanatory. It never got loose, especially when she just throws the helmet in the bag or on the bench. Great price especially when you I didn't have to buy a whole new helmet with the face guard. This guard fit the helmet we already had perfectly with no problems at all. It came with all of the necessary items (screws and chin strap) and it fit our 9 year old daughter well. Ironically, the first night out with her newly installed mask, it came in handy as she face-planted in the dirt after tripping over the first baseman's foot. I believe the mask and the chin strap probably did the most damage to her face due to it pulling on her skin during the incident, but it saved her nose and/or face from hitting the ground. And I thought it would only be useful to protect from errant softballs! She was safe by the way... :) ... show more

The mask structurally fit great on the helmet that we’ve had for a couple years but unfortnately it was the wrong model for kids. The mask shape did not match the image on the site and only left about 1-2 inches for my kiddo to see through the viewport. I’ve attached images to show how small the line of sight is and show the model difference. Sending it back for a refund. ... show more
