Bat seems solid. Well balanced, and a true C271. I bought two when I saw a price drop to 35 dlls. I haven't used them yet, but in case I notice something odd, I will update my review.

In some ways it may not be fair to write a bad review for a bat because it broke - because after all, any wood bat can/will break eventually. But as someone who has played baseball my whole life and broken many bats, I've never experienced one breaking so easily. And on top of that, Rawlings saying that they couldn't replace it because there are 15 ball marks instead of 12 (their arbitrary limit) was pretty frustrating. Let me explain.. When I say I've never seen a bat break so easily, I mean that it broke extremely quickly (within ~15 pitches) and it broke on a pitch close to the center of the barrel - I wasn't jammed and I didn't hit it right off the end. You cannot convince me that a bat, even one priced at a reasonable $50, should be able to break that easily. So either every bat of this model is just a terrible bat or the specific one I got was defected in some way. Beyond all of this, I was utterly disappointed in the responses I got from Rawlings. They had me check the bat to see if there were 12 or less ball marks, which is the seemingly arbitrary number they use to determine a defected bat or now. I had about 14-15 marks on my bat, which I thought would be close enough for Rawlings to cut me a break. Nope - they did offer that I could send it in for them to double check, but it'd be very unlikely they'd replace it and I'd have to pay the shipping to send it in. All in all a frustrating and disappointing experience from a company that I had previously been very brand loyal too. I still use my same Rawlings infielders glove that I got in little league, now ~13 years later. Whenever I need any baseball equipment I've always looked at Rawlings first just because I love my glove so much. I was thinking I should get a new outfielders glove and was looking at Rawlings. After this experience I'm unfortunately going to look elsewhere. ... show more

Good quality bat, but I guess I didn't read the dimensions well. The barrel is a lot skinnier than I thought but it is light and I can move it faster. It also has a smaller sweat spot but good velocity from the ball coming off the bat. Would recommend to others.
