  • Rave stands by its products
Purchased these skis back in 2020. Taught several kids to ski on them. One ski recently developed a horizontal crack in the base for some unknown reason. Contacted Rave customer service and although they were no longer covered under warranty, Rave agreed to make an exception in this case and replaced the ski. Nice to deal with a company that stands by their products - great customer service! ... show more

  • Excellent for first time water ski.
I bought this pair because I wanted to teach my children the easy way. I am very happy because this skis are exactly what the manufacturer says. My 17 year old son was out in the water after the third intent and my 16 years old daughter was out after the fourth intent. After that , they were going out of the water very fast on the first intent and having a lot of fun. My daughter said "I just need the first how to, now it is very easy the get out of water". I was pulling with a Yamaha wave runner 1,200 cc motor, with a short soft initial pull and then accelerating until they got out of water. 18 to 20 mph was a nice speed for them. The quality of the boots is very soft and very easy to adjust, which becomes handy when you are in the water with two skis. The width of the skis with a wider head helps a lot for balance. This was key for a successful initial ski session. ... show more

  • I highly recommend these skis for beginners.
These are a great pair of skis for beginners because they are so wide to get up out of the water with. Very easy to learn on one ski because of the width also. They are big skis, but the girl in the picture is only about 110 lbs, and she did excellent with them and learned how to ski in one day. So did the young man in the pictures. They are also a great pair of "all around" affordable skis to have for everyone. ... show more

  • I got out of the water at age 55!
For several summers, every time I tried to waterski with my sister's large, heavy skis, it was a "George-of-the-Jungle" style wipeout. However, with these wide-tipped skis, I was able to pop out of the water three times this past summer! I weigh about 160. My 45 year old brother in law (a 6'4" guy of 250 pounds) tried them as well, and he was able to get out of the water without a problem as well. Even though they are wide in front, they are actually a bit lighter and about ? 4 inches shorter than some other full adult skis. For people who are expert slalom water skiers, the fat front part probably does not cut through the water like the best slalom skis, but for mid/late teens and adults to pop out of the water easily, they're terrific! ... show more

  • Work as advertised, but they are too bouyant
Just used these skis for the first time yesterday. As others have noted, their breadth forward of the boot gives ease of getting up and provides stability. They have an unusual problem, though: they are too bouyant. They want to float up to the surface much more than other skis, making it rather difficult to get into the correct starting position for skiing. After putting the skis on, you find yourself in a funny position with both skis behind you on the surface. I am a very experienced water skiier and was able to manhandle them into position for the start, but just wanted to make others aware of this specific issue. I was considering whether there would be a way to attach weights to the back of them above the fins, which would correct the issue. BTW, we were doing this in fresh water. In salt water, I expected they'd REALLY be bouyant. The skis were very well made, and I had no other issues. ... show more

  • Perfect skis for tween and teen daughters
The skis are just right for my daughters and their friends, all of varying skill levels, heights and ages, ranging 12-18. They’re too wide for a very experienced (and aggressive) water skier, but perfect for everyone else. Probably too big for elementary school kids.

Used for beginners. Wider ski made it easier for the kids.
